Hotlum Bolum Ridge Route with Northside Shasta Summit Climb.
This is an intermediate mountaineering course designed to increase climbers experience on a moderate alpine routes offering a guided climb of Mt. Shasta via the Hotlum/Bolum route. For intermediate climbers who want to experience a more technical and steeper route to the summit of Mt. Shasta.
Includes instruction and review of the following techniques; Ice ax self belay, self arrest, glissading, basic crampon use, with the introduction of the following intermediate techniques; use of the rope, team self arrest, quick safety belays, snow and/or ice anchors (depending on conditions), and rope team travel.
Additional topics to be covered, climbing pacing techniques, climb planning, mountain medicine ("the acclimatizing process"), alpine weather, and alpine route finding. An excellent course for the next step in your alpine education.

* Duration: 3 days.
* Experience Level: Intermediate to advanced mountaineers with previous ice axe and cramponing experience.
