Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Departure from Novi Sad - Belgrade. Drive by Corridor X to Velika Plana and visit to Pokajnica log Church and Radovanjski Lug, a place where the Great Karadjordje was murdered. Continue driving to Topola and visit to Oplenac, the Church, the Mausoleum of St. George, the foundation of the royal family… Drive via Kragujevac to Vrnjacka Banja Spa. Accommodation in hotel. Includes: (D). Day 2: After breakfast pleasant walk through the beautiful spa gardens with visit to the mineral water springs. Trip to the Mountain Goc, trim track, relief walks in the fresh air and possibilities to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Traditional lunch. Visit to the typical village landowner family who breeds cattle and produces the fine cheese, yogurt, famous kaymak and other traditional products. Drive to Studenica Monastery and accommodation in Monastery Dormitory. Includes: (D). Day 3: After breakfast, Studenica Monastery tour - The Church of The Virgin Mary, The King’s Church, the Treasury, Church of St.Nicola, dinning room. This splendid foundation was built by Stefan Nemanja before the renunciation of the throne and leaving into the friars 1195. to Hilandar Monastery. It is the most important Serbian Monastery regarding its cultural and spiritual values. Drive along the “lilac valley – King’s valley” through Raška to Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery, dominating from the hill over Novi Pazar, the place where the heart of the Serbian medieval state was established between 11th and 14th century. Tour of the ecclesiastical complex and presentation of the St. Sava life and his holy Orthodoxy, who was born in nearby village Deževa, in the middle of the surrounding Deževo valley. Drive to the source of Raška River to Sopocani Monastery, with the most brilliant masterpieces of fresco-painting from 13th century. Refreshment and lunch. Drive to Zlatar Mountain, one of the most beautiful mountains in Serbia. Hotel accommodation. Includes: (D). Day 4: After breakfast visit to Mileseva Monastery situated in the Mileseva river valley, that became one of the most important Serbian sanctuaries and spiritual centres when in 1236. it received the body of St. Sava who died during Vladislav’s reign. One of most beautiful frescoes is the White Angel on Christ grave, dating from the time of foundation, today representing one of the symbols of Serbia. These thirteenth century frescoes may be considered to be the supreme achievement of all the painting in Europe of that time. Drive to the Uvac River Canyon, which is a special nature preserve and boat ride through the scenic and headed griffin vultures and rustic lunch on the lake’s bank in the heart of the intact nature. Drive along the magic slopes of Javor and Golija Mountains to Ivanjica. Hotel accommodation. Includes: (D). Day 5: After breakfast, variety of out-door and rejuvenating services in the most luxurious wellness center: swimming pool, sauna, Turkish-baths, Jacuzzi, massage lounge, gym. Drive to Potpec Cave and the "Terzica Avlija" handmade ceramics exhibition located in the heart of unspoiled nature. Drive onwards to Tara National Park and hotel accommodation. Includes: (D). Day 6: After breakfast departure to Mokra Gora and archaic train /3hrs/ ride through spectacular nature. Visit to the Mecavnik Wooden Town, the traditional settlement founded by famous film Director, Mr Emir Kusturica. Traditional organic lunch, documentary film. Drive via Užice to the Ovcar-Kablar Gorge and hotel accommodation. Includes: (D). Day 7: After breakfast visit to one of the Ovcar-Kablar Monasteries. Continue driving through Gornji Milanovac across the beautiful Rudnik Mt. and traditional farewell organic lunch with trumpet music. All dishes are cooked on the open fire place in ceramics pottery.
