BALI is much more than just sun, surf and shopping. It has a rich culture with fine temples, magnificent scenery, active volcanoes, crater lakes, hot thermal springs, mountains, lush tropical forests, rice paddies plus a warm and friendly people.
This tour allows plenty of time to enjoy the sun, surf and shopping, but also takes in all the sights that this magical island has. There is a good network of paved roads with little traffic, making Bali an ideal place to have a relaxing holiday and a great ride as well.
MOTOR BIKES - These will be Honda Tiger 200cc road bikes, which are quite capable of carrying a pillion passenger.
BALI is one of the worlds popular holiday destinations, with lush tropical jungles, long sandy beaches, warm blue water, great shopping and plenty of nightlife. It is a small island (approx. 140 km x 80 km) and is one of the many islands which make up the archipelago of Indonesia.
It is volcanically active, extremely fertile and has a central mountain chain which runs the whole length of the island, with some peaks up to 3150 m or 10500 ft. The rich volcanic soil and dependable rainfall, provides Bali with a complex patchwork of rice terraces.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVE BALI ( Denpasar )
Met at airport and transferred to the resort in Legian. The resort is 4 star with swimming pools, spas, gymnasium, tennis courts, restaurants, bars and is located on the beach front. LEGIAN has the full array of restaurants and shops, making this an ideal place to stay at the beginning and end of the tour.
Day 2: LEGIAN
Free morning to relax, swim, shop and unwind. In the afternoon collect the bikes and have a practice.
Day 3: LEGIAN
A great days ride ( 80 km )in the southern part of Bali to see Ulu Watu and Nusa Dua which is renowned for its great surfing waves.
Day 4: LEGIAN - UBUD (80 km).
Leave the coast and head into the mountains. On the way stop at Sanur beach which is another of Bali's many great beaches and continue onto Tampaksiring which is located in a beautiful valley and one of the many Hindu temples in Bali.
UBUD - This small town is situated in the mountains and is the artistic centre of Bali. Western artists and intellectuals began visiting Ubud in the 1930’s and they provided the stimulus to the local community, who used this knowledge, to promote and enhance the traditional Balinese art, culture and handicrafts, of which Ubud has become renowned for.
Day 5: UBUD
Sightseeing tour into the Monkey Forest and around Ubud.
Day 6: UBUD - PENELOKEN (70 km)
A great days ride through lush, tropical forests and ride paddies to Peneloken. Descend into the crater to stay at the hotel which is located next to the beautiful lake. After lunch ride to Besakih Temple ( 50 km ) which is the biggest and most sacred of the Hindu Temples in Bali.
PENELOKEN is located high in the mountains and is situated on the lip of the Mt.Batur crater. The views across the wide crater and lake towards Mt. Batur are spectacular. This mountain is still active with huge lava flows, which have solidified and cover a big area. There are hot thermal springs and many villages around the lakes edge.
Day 7: PENELOKEN
Free day to explore. If you have the energy & inclination, the walk up to the lip of the Mt Batur crater to watch the sunrise is fantastic! Otherwise sleep in and then have a leisurely ride around the lake and then up to the crater rim for lunch in the many restaurants.
Day 8: PENELOKEN - LOVINA BEACH (60 km)
A great days ride through the mountains before descending to the coast and continue onto Lovina Beach.
The resort at Lovina is right on the beach and has a swimming pool, restaurant, bar and is only 2 mins walk to the tourist shops, restaurants and nightlife.
LOVINA BEACH - Situated on the northern coast and near Singaraja, which was the centre of Dutch power and has some fine Dutch architecture. Lovina Beach is a popular beach resort but is also very laid back and quiet, making it an ideal base to explore northern Bali. There is excellent snorkelling, dolphin watching, Buddhist temple, fishing villages and boats, hot thermal springs, waterfalls and nice rides into the nearby mountains.
Days 9-11 LOVINA
Sightseeing rides, hot thermal springs with swimming pools, waterfalls, swimming, sunbathing, fishing, boat rides, dolphin watching, relaxing, shopping, eating, scuba diving it's holiday time!
Day 12: LOVINA - BEDUGUL (50 km)
Leave the coast and head back into the mountains. On the way stop at the Git Git waterfalls which are the best in Bali. BEDUGUL - Situated high in the mountains and located by a beautiful lake with picturesque temples, botanical gardens, colorful markets and a variety of water sports on the lake.
Day 13: BEDUGUL - LEGIAN (50 km)
A great days ride down the mountains to the coast. Stop at Tanah Lot which has one of the most picturesque Hindu Temples. TANAH LOT - This temple is perched on a rocky islet, surrounded by the sea, and is the most important and venerated sea temple in Bali.
Day 14: LEGIAN
Free day to ride, relax, swim, shop, eat. Finish with the motor bikes.
Day 15: DEPART BALI
Transfer to airport for the outward flight.
