Rock Climbing:
Our ice climbing is for beginner and intermediate climbers. This is the first step in learning how to Ice climb. You are never too young or too old to start climbing. This course teaches participants the fundamental skills needed to participate in top rope climbing. Students will learn how to tie into the climbing rope, how to belay another climber on top rope, how to properly anchor themselves while belaying, and basic climbing technique.
Climbing safety will constantly be stressed during this course. The next step in improving your climbing skills and technical knowledge is to learn how to set anchors. Students will learn to build top rope anchors using natural protection: ie, trees, boulders, and natural features of the rock. Students will also learn to rappel using a back-up method.
* Learn to Climb Adventure Vacation 2 to 3 days:
Arrive in the evening, settle in, and learn about some of the gear and skills you will be using over your Vacation. In the morning: Leave early to travel to a cliff where you will start to learn the basics of climbing and rappelling (LUNCH). Resume learning to climb. Learn basic knots and different ways to get up the cliff. Pack up and go back to lodging/camp.
Optional night hike available. Go out and enjoy nature at night. The next morning: Travel to cliff area and learn more about how to set up for, as well as start, a climb. We try to kick it up with higher rappels and longer climbing routes (LUNCH).
Try your hand at beginner lead climbing for the afternoon, learn safe placement of gear while on top rope belay. Your vacation can go on from here, there are many variations and lengths of this trip, any of which may be used depending on the guide.
Prices Start at:
- $635 for 2 people, this includes the two nights of camping. It also includes two breakfasts, two lunches and one dinner.
- $860 If you prefer to stay in an Inn instead of camping.
