Day 1 (B): Today you leave to New Zealand. The adventure begins!

Day 2: In Flight
You lose this day due to the international dateline. You will regain this day on your return.

Day 3: Today you arrive in Auckland
You will be met by a representative who will present you with vouchers, materials and answer questions that you may have about your tour. You will pick up your rental car and drive to your hotel in town.

Day 4: Auckland – Bay of Islands
You can start the day by completing any of the six items listed that you wanted to do but ran out of time. Then, when you are ready, you will drive north to the Bay of Islands. You will check into your hotel.

There are many optional activities which you can do today: you can ride horses along the beach, snorkel, scuba dive, sail, go whale-watching, swim with the dolphins, ride in a tall ship go to the go to Heritage Park in Whangerei and visit the Kauri Museum.

Day 5: Bay of Islands – 90 Mile Beach Day Tour
Today you can explore the 90-mile Beach. You can either do this on a tour. You will explore the spectacular beach area, towering sand dunes, the ancient Kauri forest, Cape Reinga and the huge crashing waves where the Pacific Ocean meets the Tasmanian Sea. You will then return to Paihia.

Day 6: Bay of Islands, Mata Mata, Rotorua
You will leave early today and drive south to Rotorua. Along the way you will stop at Mata Mata. You will visit the sheep farmlands, see where the Hobbit holes were, hear many stories about the filming and see the lake and the tree which is what was the main reason these scenes were filmed here. Afterwards you will proceed down to Rotorua.

Day 7: Rotorua - Waitomo - Rotorua
Today you will drive west for your Waitomo adventure. You will journey across the bush-clad Mamaku Range through the Fitzgerald Glade to an area of planted pine forests, the most notable center being Putaruru.

Day 8: Rotorua Mt. Tarawera day tour – Christchurch
You will be driven out to Mt. Tarawera for a half-day 4WD adventure. You will walk-climb to the top of this extinct volcano. You will be able to see some of the mountains used in the filming of "Lord of the Rings." After you you will drive to the airport, fly to Christchurch.

Day 9: Christchurch
You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the Antartic Centre. You can get suited up and enter into a simulated Antartic storm, ride in the all-purpose Haggland vehicle. After you have completed this tour you can walk around and enjoy the Christchurch city center including Cathedral Square, the Arts Centre, Botanical Gardens, Avon River.

Day 10: Christchurch – Kaikoura
You will be picked up at your hotel and taken up the coast to the Kaikoura. You will pass through the beautiful countryside, including some farmland. You can enjoy lunch in this quaint fishing village before returning to Christchurch.

Day 11 (B): Christchurch -Mount Cook - Queenstown
You will experience a variety of landscape on the coach tour from Chrischurch to Queenstown. You will travel through the tussock covered MacKenzie Country, settled by hardy Scottish immigrants. Continue along the edge of the azure blue Lake Pukaki to follow the Tasman River to Mt Cook, the highest mountain in Australasia.

Day 12: Queenstown – Dart River
You will go on a Dart River Jetboat Safari day trip. You will leave Queenstown by coach to Glenorchy - now the gateway for outdoor adventurers.

Day 13 (B,L): Milford Day Trip
You will depart this morning on board your Great Sights coach to Milford Sound. Journey along the edge of Lake Wakatipu, through Kingston and Mossburn, to Te Anau Remote, mysterious and uniquely New Zealand, Milford Sound is a spectacular reminder of the forces of nature that shaped this land.

Day 14: Return to the USA.
