And so the spellbinding journey of "The Da Vinci Code " begins as Robert Langdon uncovers a breathtaking historical secret and seeks to reveal the bizarre riddles hidden in the works of Leonardo Da Vinci. The stunning clues will be revealed to you on our guided private tour of the Louvre as we trace Langdon's steps and study the paintings for each of us to decide.
The Louvre defies description. The history of the museum is a majestic tale of power and riches unlike any other. From Catherine de Medici to Napoleon , nobility was obsessed with its treasures and completion of the museum itself. To walk in the hallowed halls is an experience you will cherish forever.
Our tour begins in the Denon Wing where Jacques Sauniere's unfortunate demise was discovered and the Italian collection begins. The enigmatic Mona Lisa painted in 1503 has been immortal to her worshipers for centuries. To actually stand before her you are flooded with memories of all that has been said, yet now thanks to Dan Brown do you see something else?
* Itinerary
- Day I
Upon arrival at our hotel de charme we invite you to relax before a scrumptious welcome reception prior to dinner at a quintessential Parisian bistro. Laura loves Paris and sharing the best kept secrets of this great culinary mecca will be filled with surprises.
- Day II
After our petit dejeuner we arrive at the Louvre for our exciting adventure. We'll break for a delightful picnic in the gardens filled with goodies from our favorite shops and neighborhood markets. When our afternoon is complete at the Louvre we'll return to the hotel for a rest before dinner. Once again you'll be treated to a unique "only in Paris" dining experience.
- Day III-
By now you've probably decided to eat all the petit dejeuner you can because it's so delicious. But that's fine because today we have a walking tour of Paris. Out tour will take us to the eerie Saint Sulpice in the heart of Saint Germain where you'll be amazed at how well Dan Brown described its spooky interiors. At the Champs de Mars at the foot of the Eiffel Tower we'll enjoy another fabulous picnic before heading down the Champs Elysees, the Tuilleries, Notre Dame and Ile St Louis. We return to our hotel to relax before supper and perhaps a pastis at a local cafe.
- Day IV
After our fill again of petit dejeuner we'll head into the Marais for a stroll in this lively district known for avant garde art, interesting boutiques and culinary and ethnic shops of all kinds. We'll gather for another grand picnic at the Place des Vosges . After lunch you may continue to wander, or the Musee Carnavelet is a few steps away. Perhaps the Musee Picasso, Centre Pompidou or tea at Mariage Freres sounds more inviting. Our evening begins with another wine and cheese soiree then we'll discover Paris after dark with dinner and jazz in St. Germain!
- Day V
Today's a free day so after breakfast you may head in whichever direction you'd like, to see Notre Dame, Opera Garnier, Musee D'Orsay, Sacre Coeur, shop at Bon Marche or on the Faubourg St. Honore. For the more adventurous there's the Catacombs, Napoleon's Tomb, the Hotel des Invalides or the cells of Marie Antoinette at the Conciergerie. Be back in time to rest before our bateau ride on the Seine and our farewell dinner.
- Day VI
Enjoy an extra pastry because it's back to the airport for the journey home.
