Exploring Laos with a bikes is fantastic, also with limited time. The magic Mekong on a boat as well as small side roads, the magic Nam Ou river and hidden villages in stunning landscapes are the highlights for this tour. Difficulty medium.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Boat ride to from Luang Prabang to Pakbeng on the magic Mekong with your bikes on board you prepare for a soft starting adventure in north Laos.
Day 2: Biking on country roads through small villages on a very good road. Amazing landscapes, mountain sceneries, Lao countryside. Guest house overnight en route (60+ km).
Day 3: More cycling today on a less travelled road to Oudomxay, for overnight stay there (70+ km). Good road, mostly uphill, good sceneries, small villages, very little traffic, nice opportunities to visit Oudomxay town.
Day 4: Oudomxay to Nong Khiau. A harder day on the bikes with some up and downhill riding. Visits of minority villages along the way. Amazing mountain views. Overnight stay in the newly opened and beautifully located riverside lodge (100 km).
Day 5: Nong Khiau and Luang Prabang. Exploration bike tour around Nong Khiau and cave visit. The counrtyside is of special beauty. Return to Luang Prabang by bike along the Nam Ou and the Mekong river.
