Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: To the newly opened Resort. Welcome in the “Lao Spirit Resort” after a short 40 min. transfer out of Luang Prabang (from Airport or town). Check in our wonderful nature Resort which is surrounded by lush green nature and a unique view into the magnificent hills and mountains.
The nearby Nam Khan river and the Elephant Camp which is opposite the Resort gives the perfect setting for your relaxed stay. Find the exceptional combination between nature, activities and luxury! Enjoy the atmosphere in the Lao Spirit Resort and prepare for a tranquil evening away from the crowd and with the sound of nature. Overnight in your Deluxe Bungalow.
Option 1: Sightseeing. Possible sightseeing if you arrive early at the day. Weaving village, Grave of Henry Mohout + some historic sights in Luang Prabang town.
Option 2: Bike it. Biking to the Lao Spirit Resort, easy dirt road mountain biking through villages and fields. Also includes the weaving village and the Grave of Henry Mohout. Biking 15 km/20 km (min. 2 pax) ) incl. Guide, gear rental, drinking water, permission, lunch, fruit.
Option 3: Walk it. full day Trekking Tour 6-7 hrs or 5 hrs with village visits and amazing mountain sceneries in front of the Laos Spirit Resort. Tre treks are moderate or slightly difficult under rainy conditions. With normal stamina both trails are easy to manage in one day. Includes all services, lunch, fruit, guide and fees + 20,- US$ p.p. min. 2 pax.
Day 2: Meet our Elephants and take a walk. After breakfast you will start your full day activity program in the surrounding nature. Take your time to meet and feed the Elephants at the river during their bathing time. After this we follow an Elephant riding & trekking combination trip. The tour guides you from our Elephant Camp to the That Sae Waterfall & Khmu Hilltribe Village (in dry season we use different trails).
A stunning landscape, the quietness, and the lush nature gives you a relaxed stay on the back of the protected Elephant. Elephant ride about 1 hr. Make your way through forests and along the Nam Khan river up to the amazing waterfalls of Tad Sae*. Here you can hang out for lunch and some swimming and bathing in the refreshing cool cascades. After your lunch you will find yourself discovering the tropic surrounding on one of our Nature Trails.
Our small half day trekking will lead you out into a Khmu village where you get an insight in every day life and culture of this hill-tribe. Most of them are farmers and fishermen and live from their slash and burn tradition. The countryside waits for you with great views and a relaxing atmosphere.
A huge mountain range always in sight! They even speak a different language here and your guide will help to ask questions. After a break in the village you go back to the Resort, where you can enjoy the evening scenery.
Activities:
- Elephant ride about 1-1,5 hrs.
- Total walking 3 hrs.
- Different Trails are possible depending on guest’s power and stamina.
Please note that the waterfall is dry during February - August! Elephant rides than take different route through river and village and take about 60-90 min.
Day 3: Kayaking on the Nam Khan river to Luang Prabang. After breakfast we still have time to relax in the wonderful atmosphere. Than we get ready for an exciting but easy kayaking on the Nam Khan river. Some small rapids, little villages and some sights along the way. After 3-4 hrs. we arrive back in town. Transfer back to your next hotel or to the airport. Including lunch and drinks!
Activities:
- Soft kayaking on river grade 2 during dry season.
- Time on river about 4 hrs.
