Your Itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVE BANGKOK
On arrival at Bangkok Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight accommodation in Bangkok.
Day 2: BANGKOK (B)
Breakfast followed by morning departure taking you through some of the most interesting parts of Bangkok, including stops Flower Market of Pak Klong Talat, the Wat Po, the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok, with its precincts covering 80,000 square meters in all, the temple also houses the the world renown Wat Po Thai Massage School; the Wat Trimmit, home to a 5.5 ton Buddha image, found when the port of Bangkok was being expanded and dating back more than 200 years; and Wat Benjamabophit, a royal temple begun by King Chulalongkorn in 1901 and noted for its dazzling, white Carrara marble. Overnight accommodation in Bangkok.
Day 3: BANGKOK - OVERNIGHT TRAIN (B)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a day for independent sightseeing, your hotel is within easy walking distance to the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Keo, National Museum, and many other important historical sites. Later in the afternoon pick-up and transfer by private vehicle to the Samsen Railway Station for your overnight air-conditioned sleeper train to Chiang Mai. We suggest bringing some light snacks with you along with drinking water, though there is a limited service onboard it is better to bring your own foodstuff.
Day 4: ARRIVE CHIANG MAI
On arrival in Chiang Mai, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Chiang Mai has everything to suit all tastes; history and culture; bargains galore in the night bazaar and spiritual serenity in its numerous temples or 'wats'. Today embark on a tour of Chiang Mai's famous temples; Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, the sacred temple with challenging flight of steps which are flanked by Naga Serpents. Wat Chedi Luang, the site of a formerly massive pagoda that was unfortunately destroyed in the great earthquake of 1545; Wat Phra Singh, the lovely Lai Kam chapel houses the revered Phra Singh Buddha image. Overnight accommodation in Chiang Mai.
Day 5: SANPATONG HILLTRIBE TREK (B/L/D)
Depart Chiang Mai by truck to the South-West direction of Chiang Mai to the National Park Area. Lunch will be provided en route. Then drive into the jungle and start trekking for 1 hour to visit Akha and Shan Villages then continue trekking for 1 hour to Hmong Village. Dinner and overnight with the friendly Hmong family.
Day 6: SANPATONG TREK (B/L/D)
After breakfast, start trekking for 3 hours through the beautiful jungle and mountainous scenery to Elephant Camp. Lunch will be provided. After lunch take an Elephant ride for 2 hours through the jungle, then continue trekking for 2 hours to Karen Village. Dinner and overnight at this peaceful Karen Village.
Day 7: SANPATONG - CHIANG MAI (B/L)
After breakfast start trekking for 2 hours to Shan Village, from here proceed on a Bamboo Raft about 2 hours traveling down the headwater of Mae Jaem River to another Shan Village, where lunch will be provided. After lunch continue by truck to Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest Mountain in Thailand and a visit of King & Queen Monument, also a visit of Vachiratharn Waterfall, the second most beautiful fall in Northern Thailand. Return to Chiang Mai. Overnight accommodation in Chiang Mai.
Day 8: DEPART CHIANG MAI (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Chiang Mai Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
