In Lhasa we explore the magnificent Potala Palace and the lively Barkhor area. Continuing across the arid Tibetan Plateau we reach Gyantse, at the head of the old trading route to India, and Shigatse, home to the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery. The roads we travel are spectacular, crossing the Pang-la Pass to Rongphu Monastery and the base camp of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest - one of the highlights of our trip.
