The glories of this ancient land (now known as Myanmar) are once again revealed to travelers in this landmark journey. We start in Rangoon, a city crowned by the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, then fly to Mandalay, before journeying on the Irrawaddy River down to the fabled 11th Century capital, Pagan. The Inle Lake region exudes tranquility and enables us to sample the hospitality of the Shan people, one of many groups that contribute to the ethnic diversity of this colorful country.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: (Sun) Arrive in Rangoon (Yangon) and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: City tour - golden Shwedagon Pagoda, Karaweik Hall. Fly to Mandalay.
Day 3: Boat trip to Mingun. Tour of Amarapura and sunset over U Bein's Bridge.
Day 4: Visit hill station of Maymyo (Pyin U Lwin), explore Mandalay's pagodas, Mandalay Hill.
Days 5-6: Boat on Irrawaddy River to Pagan (Bagan). Nyaung U Market. Tour of ruins at Pagan.
Day 7: Mount Popa and visit local village. Free afternoon.
Day 8: Fly to Heho. Drive to Inle Lake.
Day 9: Day tour of Inle Lake - Intha fishermen, floating gardens.
Day 10: Trek to ethnic minority villages on Shan Plateau. Return to Inle Lake resort, traditional Shan dinner.
Day 11: Drive to Heho, fly to Rangoon. Free afternoon.
Day 12: Trip ends in Rangoon this morning (Thu).
