In the middle of priceless tranquility and beauty of the Futaleufu Region, you will have an opportunity to enjoy an amazing week of fishing different types of trout and salmon.

The fishing is primarily comprised of Rainbow and Brown trout that can reach up to 20 lbs. Depending on the spot and time of the year, we fish Brook trout as well as Pacific and Atlantic Salmon. We practice catch and release and encourage use of barbless hooks.

We mostly use dry flies but depending on the spot, weather, time of the day and other local factors, we employ nymphs and streamers in search of the most ferocious and strong fishes you might ever see.

The Futaleufu river, one of our favorite routes, has some of the most powerful trouts in the region due to its intense rapids, which makes it one of the most respected and sought after spot by kayakers and rafting expeditions worldwide. This demanding environment makes the fish grow so strong that the speed and power you'll experience won't be found anywhere else.

We also fish in our Rio Espolon (river), Espolon lake, Yelcho lake, Yelcho river, Palena river and many other secret rivers and lakes, all close to the lodge. If you prefer, we can also fish in Argentina, in national parks near Trevelin and Esquel all within reasonable distances from the lodge or combine with our partner lodge in the Coyhaique region of Chilean Patagonia.

Futaleufu Region is located between Puerto Montt and Coyhaique, in the south of Chile, across the "Carretera Austral" road, Chilean Patagonia's heart. This means complete isolation, allowing the region to preserve the ecosystem, which so far has been barely influenced by civilization.

In this place, people still ride horses and use firewood for cooking, but because of being a Chilean border town, the government provides excellent public services such as hospital, mail services, school, ATM and other necessary services.

Within reasonable distances you will find thermal springs, the Pacific Ocean fjords and glaciers, and even enjoy whale watching in Puerto Madryn, Atlantic Ocean.

Bird species in this region are just as abundant as trees and flowers. The surroundings are emphasized with colors of deep dark green from centenary Coihues, Cipreses and millenary Alerces. With a little patience, wild boars, visons, coipos, huemules, deers, foxes and even scary pumas can be found.

If your companion is not into fly-fishing, we would be pleased to customize other interesting activities that will satisfy the most demanding outdoor enthusiasts, such as rafting in the Futaleufu River, Kayaking the Espolon river, horseback riding through millenary rainforest and glacier, bird watching, mountain bike riding, or trekking in National parks in search for virgin fresh water courses not seen by any human being before, or just hiking around our own private trails next to the lodge.

The wonderful landscape invites less adventurous ones to discover one of the most spectaculars sceneries in the world by just walking around our trails and relax by taking beautiful pictures within the estate.
