Day 1: TBA Hong Kong. We are met at the airport in Hong Kong by our guide, and drive to the hotel.
Day 2: Hong Kong (Meals: B). Sightseeing: Victoria Peak / Aberdeen / Repulse Bay / Wong Tai Sin Temple / Kowloon Walled City Park / Jade Market. After an early breakfast, we set off for Victoria Peak. Overlooking the west of Hong Kong Island, Victoria Peak is the highest peak on this island. It is the most enduring tourist attraction in Hong Kong. Then we will visit Aberdeen Harbour, which is home to hundreds of people living on fishing junks. Their traditional lifestyle is dramatically juxtaposed against a modern high-rise community that spreads up the nearby hillsides. In the evenings, the thousands of twinkling lights reflected on the water are a magical sight. After that, we will then head to Wong Tai Sin Temple, which gives the district its name, is nowadays one of Hong Kong's best known cultural landmarks, probably the most well-known and busiest temple in the city. We will also pay a visit to Kowloon Walled City Park in the afternoon. It is a wonderfully landscaped park with archeological digs and reconstructions of traditional Chinese walled house enclosures.
Day 3: Hong Kong - Guilin (Meals: B). Enjoy some free time or indulge in some shopping before your afternoon flight to Guilin. Upon Arriving at Guilin, be met & transferred to your hotel with private vehicle & tour guide. After checking in, you will feel free at leisure for the rest of the day.
Day 4: Guilin (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Guilin- Reed Flute Cave / Elephant Trunk Hill / Seven Star Park. Have city tours in the morning in Guilin. Visit the Elephant Trunk Hill. Located on the west bank of the Li River by a small branch called Peach blossom River, the hill resembles a huge elephant standing on the bank of the river, sucking up water with its long trunk. The trunk is particularly striking and lifelike when viewed either nearby or afar. A circular foot cave called Shui Yue Dong (Moon-In-the Water Cave) separates the trunk and the body. A 3-story Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D) brick pagoda rises from the top of hill. Then visit the Seven Star Park: The biggest park in Guilin, where you can see a giant Panda Meimei, the Camel Hill, Bonsai Garden and more sites if you are energetic enough to climb some hills. After lunch, you will pay a visit to the Reed Flute Cave. Aside ten minutes drive (half hour bike ride) from downtown, the cave is one of the largest known examples of what each tropical karst cone conceals within it. The dropping water is rich and the dripstones are not only in various types but also in big size, displaying a wonderful cave world. This cave was called “The Art Gallery of Mother Nature”. Colored fluorescent lights which cast shadows and illuminate shapes of imaginary animals, fruits and vegetables complete the unworldly effect.
Day 5: Guilin (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Li River Cruise. Depart from your hotel in the morning and be transferred to the Zhujiang Pier (about 1 hour drive) for a 4.5 hours wonderful Li River Cruise. You will enjoy the picturesque mountains, peaceful green fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering around on both sides of the river bank. You will have lunch aboard. Disembark at the one-thousand-year-old town Yangshuo in the afternoon. Free at leisure to explore the old town after check in the hotel in Yangshuo.
Day 6: Guilin - Kunming (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Ancient Banyan tree Park / Moon Hill. In the morning, we start early this morning to visit (or biking via country road) through the countryside with rice paddies to visit the Ancient Banyan tree Park and the Moon Hill. You may also climb 890 steps up to the moon hill to see the beautiful scenery. In the afternoon, we will go back to Guilin airport straightly and take the flight to Kunming. Upon arrival in Kunming, you are warmly welcomed and greeted by our guide and then are transferred to the hotel.
Day 7: Kunming - Lijiang (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: West Hill / Dragon Gate / Grand View Pavilion / Bird Market. Depart from your hotel in the morning to visit the West Hill and Dragon Gate, which is totally cut on a natural precipice, with an elevation of 2,500 meters, 8 kilometers west of Kunming city. The Dragon Gate is the highest temple on the West Hill. It is famous for its spectacular view. Climbing up the winding old stone stairs leading to the natural cliff-top platform, passing through an archway on which is inscribed “Longmen” (Dragon’s Gate), many inscriptions and steles are found here and there. You will have a birds-eye-view of Kunming city and the Dianchi Lake. After having lunch at a nice local restaurant, visit the Grand View Pavilion, which located 7 kilometers west of Kunming, at the lakeshore of Dianchi Lake. The Grand View Pavilion was built in 1682, by a Buddhist monk named Qianyin. It is famous for the longest antithetical couplet in China, this couplet of 180 characters is one of the most valued cultural treasures in Yunnan Province. Enjoying some free time or indulging in Bird Market before your flight to Lijiang. Upon arrival Lijiang, be met & transferred to your hotel.
Day 8: Lijiang (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Black Dragon Pool / Ancient Lijiang City. We will spend the day touring around the city, including visits to Black Dragon Pool and the Ancient Lijiang City. With a history of more than 800 years, covering an area of 3.8 square kilometers, Lijiang ancient town, also named Dayan (Big Ink Slab) Town, is a well-preserved old city. As a result of the combination of the multinational brilliant culture and the progress of Naxi ethnic minority, the buildings in the town incorporate the best parts of the architectural traits of Han, Bai, and Tibet into a unique Naxi style. In 1997, this old town was put on the list of the world cultural heritages. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Black Dragon Pool. The pool is listed in the Collections of Famous Pools of China because of its beauty.
Day 9: Lijiang (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain / Yak Meadow / White Water River / Baisha Frescos / Naxi Ancient Music performance. Depart from your hotel after breakfast. To be transferred outside city to visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. 15 km north of Lijiang city with an altitude of 5600 meters (18,400 feet) above sea level, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the highest mountain on the southern bank of the Yangtze River. It extends 35 km from south to north and 12 km from west to east, producing different altitudes in the mountain. After sampling some delicious local specialties for lunch, we will go to visit Yak Meadow. With an area of 16.6 square kilometers, the Yak Meadow is located at the middle of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Looking around the snow mountain, you would feel your soul is distilled with those white clouds high above the blue sky. On the way to Baisha Frescos, we will visit White Water River first. White Water River is a placid and propitious river. It touches the heart with its gentle flow, and you will be captivated by its fascination and beauty. After that, we will pay a visit to Baisha Frescos. These frescos paintings are very special and reflect the different religious cultures and artistic forms of Buddhism, Lamaism, Taoism and the Naxi Dongba religion. They are the artistic representations of economic development, mutual acculturation of multinational culture, and the growth of religions. In the evening, we will watch a wonderful Naxi Ancient Music performance, which is a display of folk songs.
Day 10: Lijiang - Shangrila via: bus (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Tiger Leaping Gorge / The First Bend of the Yangtze River. After an early breakfast, we set off for Tiger Leaping Gorge. With a drop of 3,000 meters, Tiger Leaping Gorge is believed to be one of the world's deepest canyons. The torrential Jinsha River, roaring and crashing over grotesque shaped rocks, produces a thrilling and stirring sight here. According to local legend, the gorge acquired its name because, at its narrowest point (90 feet), a tiger once leaped over the swirling waters. We will then head to The First Bend of the Yangtze River. About 70 kilometers (44 miles) from Lijiang city, on the north side of the highway leading from Dali to Lijiang, locates the ancient town named Stone Drum Town. It is here, the Yangtze River to make a sudden V-shaped bend and flow to the northeast. This extraordinary turn, nearly 180-degrees, creates beautiful and marvelous views that startle the imagination. This bend is called the First Bend of the Yangtze River. It has been of strategic importance since ancient times. Many famous historical events happened here. Today we take bus to Shangrila. Upon your arrival in Shangrila, our tour guide will help you to check in the hotel.
Day 11: Shangrila (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Bita Sea, Napa Sea, Songzanlin Lamasery and Tibetan family. We will spend the day touring around the city, including visits to Bita Sea, Napa Sea, Songzanlin Lamasery and Tibetan family.
- Bita Sea is situated about 32 kilometers (about 19.9 miles) away from Shangri-La County (Shangrila) and covers an area of 166 hectares. It is an intact natural attraction with various species of flora and fauna and picturesque landscapes.
- Napa Sea, also called Yila Prairie, is a lake in rain season, while grassland in other season. In the autumn, thousands of sheep, horses and yaks scatters on the grasslands. It just likes a necklace broken on the lawn. It is the habitat of about 150 black neck cranes. The total number of black neck cranes is around 1000 in the whole world.
- Songzanlin Lamasery or "Little Potala" as it is affectionately known, is a spiritual hub for people to discover the mystery and traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Located at the foot of Mt. Foping, faces a vast grassland that used to be smothered by a lake, the Songzanlin Monastery is the largest and the most important Lamasery of Tibetan Buddhism in Yunnan province, as well as one of the 13 large lamaseries in the joint area of Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan. In the afternoon, you will visit Tibetan families, to see the daily life of Tibetan, and to taste Tibetan Tea with snacks. Then you will be transferred back to your hotel and feel free at leisure for the rest of the day.
Day 12: Shangrila-Lhasa (available on Tuesday & Friday)(Meals: B/L). Our guide will meet you at your hotel in Shangrila, where you will fly to Lhasa. Upon your arrival in Lhasa, you will be met & transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure to acclimatize yourself to the high latitude for the rest of the day.
Day 13: Tibet (Meals: B/L/). Sightseeing: Potala Palace / Jokhang Temple / Barkhore Street. Full day private tour to Potala Palace, the greatest monumental structure in Tibet and perched upon Marpo Ri Hill, 130 meters above the Lhasa Valley. After having lunch at a local restaurant, visit Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Then visit Barkhor Street, the oldest street in Lhasa as well as the center of old Lhasa. Remaining very traditional, it is a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts are assembled.
Day 14: Tibet (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Trupeng Monastery / Sera Monastery / Norbulingka / the Carpet Factory. Depart from your hotel after breakfast to visit the Tsepung Monastery, one of the biggest monasteries in Tibet. Then visit the Sera Monastery, known as one of the 3 great monasteries of Tibet. After having breakfast at a local restaurant, visit the Norbulingka Park. Norbulingka means "Jeweled Garden". It was constructed as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama at the beginning, and then served the whole governmental administration. Follow with the Carpet Factory. The highland of Tibet is the actual home of oriental carpets. By visiting the Carpet Factory you will have a general idea how carpets are produced.
Day 15: Tibet (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Yangpachen / Northern Tibetan Landscape. You will spend the full day touring around the city, including visits to Yangpachen and the Northern Tibetan Landscape. The Yangpachen is famous for its hot spring and is a nice choice for those who want to get a close look at the Tibetan herders (drokpa) and their semi-nomadic lifestyle.
Day 16: Lhasa-Chongqing(available on Sunday & Wednesday)(Meals: B/L). After breakfast, our tour guide will meet you at the lobby in the morning and drive to the airport to take flight to Chongqing. Upon your arrival in Chongqing, our local guide will accompany with you to explore the city, then pre-boarding on the boat.
Day 17: Yangtze Cruise (Meals: B/L/D). Sightseeing: Fengdu. The ship departs Chongqing at 9 am. In the afternoon, disembark to have shore excursion to visit the Fengdu.
Day 18: Yangtze Cruise (Meals: B/L/D). Sightseeing: Shennong Stream. After lunch, disembark to have shore excursion to visit Shennong Stream.
Day 19: Yichang-Shanghai – Huangshan (Meals: B/L/). Sightseeing: Three Gorge Dam. In the morning, you will disembark to have land excursion to Three Gorge Dam site. Then you will arrive in Yichang at noon. Upon arrival Yichang, our tour guide will meet you and transfer you to shanghai airport, then take the connect flight to huangshan. Upon arrival in Huangshan, you are warmly welcomed and greeted by our guide and transfer you to the hotel. Feel free at leisure to explore the city and have dinner at your own arrangement.
Day 20: Huangshan (Meals: B/L/D). Sightseeing: Mt.Huangshan. You will start in early this morning to take cable car up to the top of Mt.Huangshan tour to Jade valley and other peaks. Mt.Huangshan is known as "the loveliest mountain of China", famous for its magnificent scenery made up of many granite peaks and rocks emerging out of clouds. Your home-stay tonight is on the mountain.
Day 21: Huangshan - Shanghai ( Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Hong Cun Village. After an early breakfast, take cable car down from the mountain. Then visit Hong Cun Village, an ancient town over 800 years old leaning against Mt. Huangshan, it is folded in the fog of the Mt. which makes it look like a river and mountain picts. After sampling some delicious local specialties for lunch, you will go to the airport to Shanghai. Arrive at Shanghai. Be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 22: Shanghai (Meals: B/L). Sightseeing: Shanghai Museum / Yu Garden / Yuyuan Market / Children's Palace / Oriental Pear TV Tower. Depart from your hotel in the morning to visit Shanghai Museum, the biggest museum in China, with a collection of over 120,000 pieces of Chinese art & cultural relics. The museum is especially famous for its treasures of bronzes, ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy. Then visit Yu Garden. It is characteristic of the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty and it used to be a private garden with 400 years' history. In front of the garden, there is a market called Yu Market. After lunch, we take a short drive to Shanghai Children's Palace, which providing after school education for gifted children. Children participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities such as music, dance, art, model making, science, technology and computer science. We will also pay a visit to the highest TV Tower in Asia-Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which standing by the Huangpu River with 468 meters high.
Day 23: Shanghai – TBA (Meals: B). Free at leisure until to be transferred to the airport for the flight to your next destination.
