Trip Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival – Upon your arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to a hotel, depending on time of arrival, you will go for a walk through the Botanical gardens located at the shores of Lake Victoria. The gardens are on a large scale natural with lots of fruit trees that are a habitat of fruit eating birds; like the Ross’s Turaco and the Black & White Casqued Hornbill or a optional boat trip to Ngamba island chimp sanctuary which has more than 300 recorded bird species. Return and overnight at the hotel BB Day 2: Today you will transfer to Lake Mburo NP, where you will arrive in time for lunch at a tented camp, after lunch you will be going for either for bush walk, birding en route. Lake Mburo has over 40 bird species – both woodland and water birds, some of the common species are the harrier hawk, green pigeon, narina trogn, grey-backed cameroptera and double-toothed barbet. Overnight at the camp FB. Day 3: Today you may go early for birding along the shore of Lake Mburo, here you will be to see a variety of bird species as the Pied & Malachite kingfisher, Spur-winged Plover, Hamerkop and more .After breakfast you depart for Queen Elizabeth NP. A game drive en route, were you will view Zebra, various antelopes and the rare Eland, you will be birding as you go along. Upon your arrival at Queen Elizabeth park, you will have lunch after which will go for a the afternoon birding, with chances of spotting the African Mourning dove, Grey headed Kingfisher, Lesser masked weaver and the Black headed Gonolek. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge. Day 4: Early breakfast then depart for a combined game drive and birding, in QENP there are about 600 bird species recorded, among which is the famous shoebill stork, African fish eagle, martial eagle, papyrus gonolek and more. The game include elephant, various antelopes, hyena, lion, leopard and buffaloes. The boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, you will go by schools of hippos, elephant and buffalo drinking from the its waters along with the enormous birdlife that the channels habits, you will not miss the Whistling dick, African fish eagle, Pelcans, Herons and many more. Overnight at the lodge FB Day 5: Today you will depart for Kibale NP, the journey through the beautiful landscape bordered by the ranges of Mt Rwenzori from a distance. Lunch will be served at your moderately run hotel in Fort Portal town. This after noon you will go for the swamp walk, were you will birding with an opportunity to see the great blue turaco, White-spotted Flufftail,Blue-headed Coucal, Yellow-billed Barbets and both Green-throated and Green-headed Sunbirds. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 6: After breakfast, you will go for a forest walk through the Kibale Forest with chances of viewing primates like the vervet monkey, l’hoest monkey, the baboon and mammals like the sitatunga, bush pig and the forest elephants. The Pied Hornbill, Fine-banded Woodpecker, Black & White Flycatcher are among the birds you will get to spot while on the walk. After the walk you will depart for Entebbe, after lunch; a stop for curio shopping if keen, and you be transferred to your hotel the overnight BB Day 7: Depending on the flight time, you may go for a half day birding around Entebbe; otherwise you will be transferred to the airport in time for departure flight.
