Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Bahir Dar. Fly to Bahir Dar and after check-in to hotel depart by boat over Lake Tana to visit the old island monasteries of Ura Kidane-Mihret, Azwa Mariam and Kebran Gabriel. Overnight in the hotel. Day 2: From the very beginning of the second day will be an excursion to Blue Nile Falls and if interested you may descend to the base of the falls and cross Nile River by small motor boat. Then visit Bahir Dar town's open market, Nile Outlet and sunset viewing on Lake Tana. Overnight in the hotel. Day 3: Gondar. Fly to Gondar and visit 17th century castles, Debre Berhane Selassie Church, Fasiledese's Bathing Pool, abbey of 18th century Empress Mentewab and Felasha (Black Jews) Village. Overnight in the hotel. Day 4: Full day excursion to Simien Mountains National Park, site of UNESCO’S World Heritage and contains some of the most dramatic scenery in Africa. Overnight in the hotel. Day 5: Lalibela. Fly to Lalibela and whole day explore the incredible eleven 13th century rock hewn churches carved into the rugged mountainsides. Overnight in the hotel. Day 6: In the morning a mule ride to Asheton Mariam to visit a high altitude church and after that visit more of the rock-churches and villages in Lalibela town. Overnight in the hotel. Day 7: Axum. Fly to Axum and visit Stele (Obelisk) Fields, 6th century Kings Bazen and Kaleb underground tombs, King Ezana's Park, Tsion Mariam Church and ruins of Queen Sheba Palace. Overnight in the hotel. Day 8: Full day excursion to visit the most ancient Pre-Christian temple at Yeha and 6th century Debre Damo Monastery notable for its cliff top position. Overnight in the hotel.
