Our rustic yet comfortable accommodation serves our base from which we explore the mazes of lush forest and mysterious water in Amazonas, and we glide up the mighty Amazon River, observing the innumerable species of animal that inhabit the region. We fly to the Pantanal, home to the highest concentration of wildlife in South America, where we spend a few days admiring the natural world in all its splendor, before we make for Brazil's capital city, Rio de Janeiro, to take in some tremendous man-made attractions. Visiting colonial towns seemingly frozen in another epoch and mingling with the lively locals along the way, we head into Argentina, crossing the border at the wondrous Iguazu Falls. From here we travel to Buenos Aires, a destination which would alone warrant a tour to South America, and take in some fabulous historic and cultural sights in the dynamic capital city, before making our way south and into the astounding nature playground of Patagonia.
