So great is the wealth of attraction in each of these five unique destinations, it takes the best part of a month to get through it all. Few places can match this archipelago's charming blend of old and new, with modern skyscrapers sharing the landscape with majestic ancient mosques and other historically significant monuments. We explore the bustling traditional markets (souks) in Qatar, the museums and mud fort in the dynamic, futuristic city of Dubai city and travel through lush green countryside, stopping off in traditional towns to explore archaeological areas of interest, en route to the jagged-mountain sceneries of Oman. Visiting memorable Islamic and Arabian sites, bazaars and mingling with traditional peoples adorned in traditional dress along the way, we reach Yemen, a country of extraordinary vertical landscapes, and wander in cities that date from the days of Christ. We gaze at the oldest 'skyscrapers' in the world amid a green oasis deep in the Arabian desert, saunter through broad, fertile canyons and take in incredible mud houses and white-washed mosques.
