Laos is a country where visitors can really escape from the stress of modern life and step into the tranquility of a world dominated by Buddhism. One of the highlights of Laos is the former royal capital of Luang Prabang in the northern mountains. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there is little traffic on the streets and monks in saffron robes carrying black umbrellas to shade themselves are a familiar sight. The following trek options provide the opportunity to discover charming temples, friendly minority tribes and fertile valleys. The only difficulty will be choosing which route!
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Luang Prabang - Muang Pac Ou. Drive to Ban Hadkhor for our trek uphill to Ban Houei Khor, where the Khmu tribe inhabit. After lunch we continue our trek to Ban Phapheung visiting local communities along the way before reaching Ban Mok Chong for our overnight stay with the Hamong tribe.
Day 2: Ban Mok Chong - Ban Houei Kok. Today we trek to Ban Nasawang, where the landscape is lush and fertile and the local communities are curious and friendly. After lunch we continue trekking to Ban Houeikok for an overnight stay in the Khmu village.
Day 3: Ban Houei Kok - Luang Prabang. After breakfast, we commence trekking downhill to a spectacular waterfall, Ban Houei Kha. We then meet the bus and return to Luang Praban
