Touching down in Vienna, the 'City of the Waltz,' in Austria, we explore the maze of narrow, cobblestone streets on foot, visiting world-renowned sites along the well-trodden tourist route, like the buzzing main street, Gothic cathedral and glittering palace, as well as venturing away from the crowds to the lesser-known yet equally rewarding sites of interest. Combining the two, our tour ensures that you will not miss out on the world-famous attractions that lure flocks of travelers the world around, while at the same time providing the opportunity to give you a glimpse of the true face of Vienna.
From here, we cross into the Czech Republic and to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Valtice, whereupon we venture into the countryside for a hike through pristine landscapes along the 100-year-old Greenway Corridor that connects cultural monuments, historic towns and quaint villages with restored castles and churches. We wander through romantic parks, visit Renaissance chateaux and architectural monuments, hike in the Pavala hills and soak up the medieval atmosphere in the jewel of South Bohemia, Cesky Krumlov. Nearing the end of our two-week tour, we spend some time in Prague, a destination compared with Florence and Rome for its beauty to explore the many wondrous sites the city has to offer.
