Zasavica Special Nature Reserve is covering area of 671 ha and it is located in western part of Serbia in Macva region, Vojvodina. The area is dominated by the river ecosystem surrounded with the fragments of marshy, hygrophilous forests and meadows. It is characterized by the presence of rare endemic and relic species, being endangered not only in Serbia but also in Europe, such as Umbra Krameri and Lutra lutra.
Community development – environmental:
Clients can be involved in river cleaning from rowing boat and from riverside as well as afforestation in early spring and late autumn. Accommodation would be in Nature Reserve. It is important to mention that Mr. Slobodan Simic, general manager of Zasavica Special Nature Reserve was president of Rotary Club from 2005 until 2006 (Club nr. RI District 2480). He would be local guide along with two more guides if necessary. Due to signed contract we have very good cooperation with them, as well as with Goran’s Ecological Movement who takes care of this Swamp.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival to Belgrade. City sightseeing tour with tour guide.
Overnight.

Day 2: Breakfast. Transfer to the volunteering place.
Sightseeing Route: Belgrade – Sabac – Zasavica. Arrival to Zasavica is planned in the forenoon. Accommodation. Sightseeing with rowing boat; getting to know with Swamp and volunteering project.
