Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: After arriving San Antonio de Los Cobres for lunch, we continue to Salinas Grandes, the great salt flat and at the end of the day we finish in Purmamarca village where we will stay at a nice hotel.
Day 2: The morning light is the best time to take pictures to the seven colours of Purmamarca famous hill and the village, then we continue our trip along Humahuaca gorge arriving at noon to the city of the same name where we will be able visit the historic down town. Then we'll go to Iruya is a small yet beautiful village built in the middle of the mountain area as you can see in the picture above, and is situated in Salta province. To get there we will cross a pass of 4.000 mts. above sea level and then descend to 2.800 mts. where is Iruya is situated, overnight at Hosteria de Iruya.
Day 3: On the last day, after leaving Iruya we will return over the same way to Humahuaca City, and then to Tilcara village where we will stop to visit the archaeological ruins and the museum in the down town. Then we will return to Salta along route 9 where we will be able to see part of the rain forest area on the way, which has a strong contrast after many days of seeing deserts and salt flat.
