The first stop will be in Vilnius, Lithuania, and the central Cathedral Square serves as our starting-line as we set off to see all the other cathedrals scattered throughout the city. Traveling northward, we pass through lush hills and valleys all the way into Riga, Latvia. Just glancing at the city’s eclectic style of architecture showcases why this place has always been considered one of Eastern Europe’s most cosmopolitan cities. Once further north in Tallinn, Estonia, we enjoy the vibrancy of this bustling harbor city, with its vast array of medieval castles.
A quick ferry ride across the Baltic Sea will takes us to Helsinki, Finland, where there’s endless sights to explore; from the Presidential Palace to the Opera House. Arriving in Saint Petersburg, we have the chance to visit the Winter Palace, whose halls are lined with classic works by some of the world’s greatest artisans: Raphael, Giorgione, Titian and Rembrandt. Find out why the Peter and Paul Fortress and St Isaac’s Cathedral are so famous throughout Russia. Set off to Yaroslavl, the city of Yaroslav the Wise, which offers a history exceeding that of Moscow; the antiquity within its beautiful churches serve as testament to this.
Other cities brimming with history will be examined along the way to Moscow, where the Kremlin and the Red Square can finally be crossed off your list of essential places to see in the world. Once you think you have already had your fill of adventure, you realize that you still have Ukraine to discover. Kyiv’s energy makes it easy to maintain the ambition for discovery and as we gaze at the architectural wonders, we will see this as only the beginning of our journey. Lviv’s picturesque streets are surely meant for the avid wanderer and Yalta is the perfect introduction to the wonderment of the Crimean Peninsula. Finally, Odessa and its sandy shores play out the perfect ending to your picture-perfect story.
