You will a visit to the world famous annual flower exhibition the Keukenhof. Visit in April and May to see the Daffodils, tulips and hyacinths is a patchwork of colors. Visit the gigantic flower auction in Aalsmeer from where all kinds of flowers are transported all over the world. Tip: this trip is meant for beginning bicyclists daily bicycle rides are from 10 to 20 miles.
Tours are each Tuesday and Saturday from Amsterdam, March 31 -May 12, 2009. Barges are standard arrangement with some special comfort barges available.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1:
Amsterdam - Haarlem, cycle trip ± 10 km. After departure by barge mid afternoon from Amsterdam sail to Spaarnedam (famous for its statue of Hans Brinker, from there short bicycle trip to Haarlem. Or stay on barge and enjoy the view. After arrival time for a walk in town.

Day 2:
Haarlem - Leiden, cycle trip ± 15 km. We sail to Lisse for a visit to the Keukenhof Flower exhibition. The Keukenhof has 6 million flowering tulips, hyacinths, narcissus and other flowers. After this visit a bike ride through the flower fields to Leiden. In the evening the guide will tell you all about the birthplace of Rembrandt during a walk through the center.

Day 3:
Leiden - Uithoorn, cycle trip ± 25 km. Today a bicycle trip through the Green Heart of Holland to Uithoorn. We will visit a traditional cheese farm and a miller will tell you about the history and working of his mill.

Day 4:
Cycle trip ± 15 km. Early morning bike ride to the flower auction in Aalsmeer, back to the barge, sail to Amsterdam while having breakfast, leave barge after arrival between 11 and 1 PM.

Sailing route of barge is Amsterdam-Haarlem-Leiden-Aalsmeer-Amsterdam. 4 day tulip tours are every Tuesday and Saturday, April through May, 2008.
