In between the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains lies the alpine wilderness of Tweedsmuir Park.
A floatplane will fly you over immense lakes and mountain passes to our alpine base camp for day-hikes among glacier-studded bastions of granite and volcanic rock. Here we hike the tundra and mountain slopes through a wild and remote landscape. Hike out amongst spectacular alpine meadows rich with wild flowers.
The journey from Vancouver will pass through the heart of the central coast of British Columbia. Along the Gold Rush Heritage Trail this journey will take you through spectacular scenery into one of the last real true wilderness frontiers. In between the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains lies the alpine wilderness of Tweedsmuir Park where you will stop to explore the forest trails, see salmon spawning and have take an interpretive river drift with a local biologist.
Continue to the unique and remote community of Bella Coola and learn about the local indigenous people and visit ancient rock carvings with a Native Indian guide. From here the ferry will take you along the Discovery Coast Passage through fjords and open ocean to Vancouver Island. You will see grey whales, Orcas, porpoise and dolphins during this scenic cruise.
The Vancouver Island Highway will take you past a string of Gulf Islands towatds the Georgia Straight where you will board another ferry back to Vancouver.
