With tropical blue-green seas, golden beaches perforated with coconut-swaying palms and landscapes of picture-perfect serenity, the Indian Ocean Islands encapsulate the very essence of the word ‘exotic’. Starting off basking under a radiant sun in Mauritius, we get our feet wet in the warmest ocean in the world, check out fascinating natural sites, such as volcanic craters and the Seven Colored Earth at Chamarel, and explore modern and historic sites in and around the capital city, Port Louis.
In the Seychelles, we tour the charming streets of the world’s smallest capital city, Victoria on the island of Mahe, where we can browse local marketplace stalls and curio shops, we visit UNESCO Heritage forests to see unique sights and indigenous wildlife, and we spend time soaking up the laid-back atmosphere on idyllic beaches. Touring Reunion, a land of rugged contrast and French heritage, we explore volcanic landscapes and admire architecture in historic urban centers before jetting over to the culturally diverse Mayotte to end our tour.
