Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok - Luang Prabang (by flight)
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. After a short rest, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai.
Then we ascent up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by the local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. (O/N in Luang Prabang) (D)
Day 2: Luang Prabang Pak Ou Khouang Sri Waterfall
An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession.
AM: After breakfast, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the citys oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai, where the local rice wine is distilled. We return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.
PM: We continue our excursion toward Khouangsi Waterfall, en route, we visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, Ban Ou, Laoloum Village and Ban Thapene, Khmu Village, then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails. The Khouangsi Waterfall setting really illustrates paradise. We return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon and continue to Ban Xangkhong, a village well known for silk handweaving and for traditional Saa Paper making. We return to the city by late evening to observe the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath. (O/N in Luang Prabang) (B, L)
Day 3: Luang Prabang Lao Spirit Adventure
This is a full day trip combining a rafting tour out of town with some sightseeing and an exciting elephant ride to/from Tad Sae Waterfall (or alternative route in dry season). After pick up from your Hotel (8:30-9:00 a.m) we proceed to the Adventure and Elephant camp located 15 km out of town in the middle of unspoiled, natural green surroundings. After crossing the small river you are introduced to our Asian Elephants and venture on a 1hr - 1hr 30 mins scenic journey through forests, plantations and fields.
This activity program provides you with a breathtaking and unique experience as you make your way through the forests and along the Nam Khan River up to the waterfalls of Tad Sae. (In dry season we ride a village trail) After visiting the waterfall, lunch is served before a relaxing 30 minute rafting tour along the river back to the resort and then we return to Luang Prabang for civilization by sunset. Tonight we joint the BACI ceremony and admire the traditional dancing performance. (O/N in Luang Prabang) (B, L, D)
Day 4: Luang Prabang Siep Reap (by flight QV 513: 10.50-14.15)
Upon arrival in Siem Reap airport, met and transferred to the hotel for check in. Excursion to Floating Villages on Tonle Sap Lake. (O/N in Siem Reap) (B, D)
Day 5: Siem Reap Angkor Temples (B)
In the morning, visit to South Gate of Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon, Baphoun, the Terrace of Temple, Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch at the local restaurant. It is time to visit the world wonder of Angkor Wat and sunset from Phnom Bakheng Hill. (O/N in Siem Reap) (B, L)
Day 6: Siem Reap Ta Prohm Angkor Complexs
We continue to visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers, Pre Rup, East Mebon, and Neak Poan. Lunch at the local restaurant. Visit Krovan, Royal Bath of Srah Srang and Banteay Kdei temples. (O/N in Siem Reap) (B, L)
Day 7: Siem Reap Phnom Penh (by flight)
Excursion to Banteay Samre temples. Lunch not included. In the afternoon, transfer to Siem Reap airport for departure to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival at Phnom Penh airport, meets and transfers to hotel Dinner at the local restaurant. (O/N in Phnom Penh) (B, D)
Day 8: Phnom Penh Royal Palace Silver Pagoda Bangkok (by flight)
Visit to Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Independence Monument, National Museum and Wat Phnom temples. Lunch at local restaurant. Transfer to the Phnom Penh International Airport for departure flight to Bangkok. (B, L)
