Seventeen days is the perfect amount of time to spend exploring this land that is a rich blend of both Mayan antiquity and contemporary culture. When we're in Guatemala's Chichicastanengo, we will witness the unique culture and religious beliefs of the Maya Quiche Indians, a people who are said to be the purest descendants of the ancient Maya.
See the unique culture of Mexico as a whole when we come across the mixture of Catholic and pagan beliefs that exists in city's Cathedral of Santo Tomas. We will learn how the people who live in the villages near Lake Atitlan feel serenity; by surrounding themselves with sparkling water and towering volcanoes.
Honduras's Archaeological Park of Copan contains ancient stairways with numerous hieroglyphs for us to discover. It's the details that we see up-close that helps us define the overall magnificence of these massive ancient structures. The Yucatan is home to some of the most stunning Mayan ruins, such as the Uxmal, where we can inspect 20,000 hand-cut stones.
