Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
You arrive in Delhi by international flight. After a traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome) our representative would meet & assist you at the airport and at our hotel for check in and overnight stay. (B)
Day 2: Delhi - Mathura (160 Km / 4 Hrs)
Breakfast at the Coffee shop. You will be taken on a guided tour of Delhi, beginning with a morning sightseeing trip to Gandhi Memorial at Raj Ghat. Afternoon tour includes visits to India Gate, President's House, Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar. Later we will leave for Mathura, related with the birth and childhood of Lord Krishna. Upon arrival check -In hotel.
Mathura: Mathura (Brajbhoomi) is conveniently located at a distance 160 km from Delhi in the western part of the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a part of the great northern plains and is situated on the western bank of the river Yamuna. It is famous as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, an important deity in the Hindu religious pantheon. It is an important pilgrim place of the Hindus and one of the seven most sacred cities in India. The main pilgrim centre in Mathura is the Shri Krishna Janmbhoomi temple. In the evening one can visit the temples and enjoy the aarti. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 3: Mathura - Vrindavan - Delhi (170 km/ 4 hrs)
Madan Mohan Temple, VrindabanEarly morning post breakfast we leave Vrindavan. Vrindavan: Vrindavan is 10 km from Mathura and it is associated with the childhood exploits of Lord Krishna. Mathura & Vrindavan is also famous for its various temples. There are about 4,000 temples in Vrindavan. The main temples are Govind Dev Temple, Rangaji temple, Bankey Bihari temple, ISKCON Temple, Radha Ballabh temple, Madan Mohan temple, Pagal Baba temple and the Nidhi Van temple. In the evening we drive back to Delhi for overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 4: Delhi - Haridwar (225 km/ 6 hrs)
Early morning post breakfast drive to Haridwar at 0900 hrs. It is on the banks of River Ganges (Ganga) and located at the foothills of the lower Himalayan Range of the Shivalik mountains. It is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. When the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains, Haridwar is the first major town on the plains. Though the Ganges does not lose its rapids completely, nevertheless it becomes very quiet and calm here. Haridwar has earned fame as being the place, which has been blessed by the trinity of the Lords Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma.
It is also one of the major Shaktipeeths. Down the ages, Haridwar has purified the mind, the body and the soul of people not only in spiritual or religious terms but as a major learning centre for arts, science and culture. Upon arrival check-in the hotel. Later in the afternoon visit Mansa Devi temple and in the evening enjoy the spectacular view of 'Aarti' at Har Ki Pauri. Later spend your time on the Ghat. Overnight stay at the hotel. (B)
Day 5: Haridwar - Rishikesh - Haridwar (25 km/ 1 hr / One way)
Laxman Jhoola, RishikeshToday we leave for full day excursion of Rishikesh, a very important Hindu pilgrimage site. It is also a cluster of number of Ashrams and temples giving the entire place a spiritual feeling. The ceaseless flow of the river, regarded as Goddess Ganga adds to the beauty and the purity of the place. Along the river, the area is filled with thick green forests in the all-mountainous region. Rishikesh is famous for its yoga sessions that are taught here by many yoga experts. Besides the sadhus and saints, a mass of tourists too visit this place every year to have a look at this much heard place. If the wonderful scenery and the numerous pilgrimage sites are not enough, Rishikesh also makes some of the most popular adventure sport destination of India. River rafting, trekking, rock climbing, hiking etc are some of the activities one can easily opt for. We will be visiting Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Geeta Bhawan and other temples & ashrams, Later in the evening drive back to the Hotel in Haridwar for overnight stay. (B)
Day 6: Haridwar - Delhi (225 km / 6 hrs)
Morning at leisure, later we drive back to Delhi for overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 7: Delhi - Ajmer (Shatabdi Exp 0610 - 1245 hrs.) - Pushkar (15 km / 30 mins)
Early morning on time at 0500 hrs drive to railway station to board the train for Ajmer. Upon arrival at Ajmer Railway station assistance and drive to Pushkar to check-in hotel.
Pushkar: located on the edge of the desert lies the tiny tranquil town of Pushkar along the bank of the picturesque Pushkar Lake. This is an important pilgrimage spot for the Hindus, which has the only temple of Lord Brahma in the country and one of the few in the world. Lord Brahma is known as the creator of the world as per the Hindu mythology. It's marked by red spire, and over the entrance gateway is the hans, or goose symbol, of Brahma, who is said to have personally chosen Pushkar as its site. The function of Brahma creating the world - has been completed, while Vishnu (the preserver) and Shiva (the destroyer) still have relevance to the continuing order of the universe. Brahma is also a God of the Aryan invaders and during Vedic times his cult temporarily displaced the more ancient indigenous Shiva and Shakti cults. With the passing of the period of major Aryan influence, these deities re-emerged more powerful than before. The lake has a mythological significance associated with it. According to myth, Lord Brahma was on his way to search for a suitable place to perform a "Yagna' (a fire sacrifice) while contemplating, a lotus fell from his hand on the wart and water sprouted from that place. One of them was Pushkar where Lord Brahma performed" Yagna".
In the afternoon visit to Pushkar temples, many were destroyed by Aurangzeb and subsequently rebuilt. The most famous is what is said to be the only temple in India dedicated to Brahma. The one - hour trek up to the hilltop temple overlooking the lake is magnificent. Next visit the numerous ghats run down to the lake, and pilgrims are constantly bathing in the lake's holy waters. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 8: Pushkar - Nathwara - Udaipur (275 km/ 6 hrs)
Sri Nathji Temple, NathwaraMorning post breakfast we leave for Nathwara.
Nathwara: Situated 48 km north of Udaipur, Nathwara has the famous Sri Nathji Temple which is an important shrine for Vashnavites. The black stone Krishna image that is housed in the temple was brought here from Mathura in 1669 to protect it from the destructive impulses of Aurangzeb. According to legend, the getaway vehicle, a wagon, sank into ground up to the axels as it was passing through Nathwara. The priests realized that this was a sign from Lord Krishna - the image did not want to travel any further! Accordingly, the Sri Nathji temple was built on the spot. Attendants treat the image like a delicate child, getting it up in the morning, washing it, putting its clothes on, offering it specially prepared meals and putting it down to sleep, all at precise times throughout the day. It is a popular pilgrimage site and the temple opens and closes around the image's daily routine. It gets very crowded around 3.30 and 4pm when Lord Krishna wakes up after a siesta. Day 9: Udaipur - Eklingiji - Udaipur (50 km/ 1 hr / One way)
Eklingji TemplesEarly morning before breakfast we leave for Eklingiji.
Eklingji is located at a distance of 24 km north of Udaipur, the tutelary deity of the rulers of Mewar. It is a complex of 108 temples enclosed by high walls with bathing terraces leading down to the water. The atmosphere excludes the fragrance of incense material such as dhoop, deep and sandalwood. The fifty feet high Eklingji temple has a multi- faced image of Lord Shiva made of black stone. The various faces of Shiva can be seen in the four directions - the sun is east, Brahma in the west, Vishnu in the north and the Rudra in the south. In the centre of three images is the Shivlinga which is encircled by a silver snake. In this temple, Shiva is depicted with his family, Parvati and the elephant god Ganesh. Images of Yamuna and Saraswati are also present. Specially attractive are the doors of silver which show Lord Ganesh and Kartikya. Near the temple, as we move up are the temples of Ambamata, Ganeshji and Kalika. The trunk of Ganeshji is towards the right although generally it is found to be facing the left. The brackets show nymphs in erotic dance postures, while the life size image of Bapparawal is a piece of art. Later we drive back to hotel to have our breakfast.
In the afternoon we will leave for half day sightseeing of Udaipur city. We start our tour with Udaipur's fascinating City Palace. Moulded in soft yellow stone, its windowless base is crowned with ornate turrets and canopies. Part of the Palace is now a museum with its marble and granite walls laden with brilliant miniature paintings and decorated with coloured glass and mirrors. The tour continues to the garden of the Maids of Honour and Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum. At sunset you can cruise around in a boat amidst the romantic waters of Lake Pichola (Subject to availability of water). Overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 10: Udaipur - Mt. Abu (190 km /5 hrs)
Morning post breakfast we drive to Mt. Abu, a pleasant retreat set amidst the lush forested hills, Mt. Abu is a green oasis in the barren deserts cape that’s Rajasthan. Situated at the southern tip of the Aravali range the hill retreat owes its cool climate to its rich flora covering the entire hillside that includes coniferous trees and flowering shrubs. The road leading to Mount Abu is a curved one characterized by arid region dotted with huge rocks in weird shapes and high velocity winds. Upon arrival assistance and check-in hotel. In the evening visit the Sunset Point at a short distance from the lake, a spectacular view of the sunset can be witnessed here in quiet contemplation of nature. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 11 - Mt. Abu
Dilwara Jain TempleMount Abu was the home of many saints and sages in the old days. Legend has it that all the 330 million gods and goddesses of the Hindu pantheon used to visit this holy mountain. It is also the place where the great saint Vashishth lived and performed a yagna (sacrificial worship on a fire pit) to create four Agnikula (four clans of fire) to protect the earth from demons. The yagna was supposed to have been performed near a natural spring, which emerged from a rock shaped like a cow's head.
Morning post breakfast we will visit to Dilwara Jain Temple : These temples were built during 11th to 13th centuries. They are dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras. Vimal Vasahi temple is the oldest, built in 1031 AD. Gaumukh Temple : This site got this name because a spring is flowing from a sculpted cow's head. There is also a marble structure of Nandi. Raghunathji Temple: Dedicated to Raghunathji. Rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 12: Mt. Abu - Ambaji - Ahmedabad (200 km / 4 hrs)
Morning post breakfast we leave for Ambaji, The temple of Ambaji is recognized as one of the original Shakti pithas where, according to the ancient scriptures written about the goddess, the heart of the Goddess Ambaji fell on the earth, when her body was dismembered. It is said that the tonsorial ceremony or mundan of Lord Krishna, one of the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, was performed at Ambaji.
First of all we will visit to Kamakshidevi Temple Complex : where all the 51 Shakti Pith, the centre of cosmic power are reconstructed and installed in a single complex so as to give total information to the visitors and devotees of the great Shakti Sampraday about the various incarnations of Adhya Shakti mata Jagadamba, Kumbharia Jain Temple: a wonderful ancient piece of architecture, Koteshwar Temple , Someshwar Temple and Kumbheshwar Temple. Further we will continue our drive to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival assistance and check-in hotel for overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 13: Ahmedabad - Palitana - Bhavnagar (250 km/ 5 hrs)
Today post breakfast we drive to Palitana. It is worth an effort to climb this 610m high hill and visit the famous Shatrunjaya Jain Temple Complex, which has 863 Temples with arches, carved pillars, and bejeweled idols ranging from 11th to 20th century. Later we drive to Bhavnagar, another rich princely city, and on arrival we assist you to check in at our Hotel. Overnight stay. (B)
Day 14: Bhavnagar - Mumbai (Flt. 9W-3412 / Dep. At 0915-1025 hrs)
Morning post breakfast on time transfer to the airport to board the flight for Mumbai. Upon arrival assistance and check-in hotel for overnight stay. (B)
Day 15: Depart Mumbai
Tour concludes. We thanks you for your patronage and ensures a punctual transfer to Airport / Railway Station for onward travel.
