Tour Details:
*Season: October to April
*Difficulty / level of fitness: moderate
*Description: We leave early hiking an uphill trail to the highest part of Ayacara at 898m. The first section of the trail goes through "El Avellano" estate, through green sheep pastures, and then into the forest. As we ascent we can see diverse and enormous examples of coihue tree (Nothofagus dombeyi - a Chilean birch tree used for shingles).
While we walk through the forest we can hear beautiful birds' singing and the curious mythical bird (chucao). Once at the top, there is a clearing in the forest giving us a panoramic viewpoint, like an aerial view, over Ayacara, the Gulf of Ancud, Chiloé Island and the Andes range. We have lunch there before returning.
