The mountains of Slovakia are exceptional because in a relatively small area there is a great deal of diversity. They include the Vysoké Tatry, whose peaks are higher than 2500m, the wide ridges and wooded valleys of the Nízke Tatry, the pastured slopes of the Malá Fatra, and the mysterious gullies and beautiful mountain meadows of the Slovenský Raj. The tours have been carefully arranged so that you will see the best and most picturesque parts of Slovakia’s mountains. When you are not in the mountains, you will go on specially prepared trips to see wooden altars made by the masters of Gothic art, historic towns, museums of folk architecture, as well as modern Slovakia.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival to Vienna airport, transfer to the Nízke Tatry.
Day 2: Hiking along part of the main ridge of the Nízke Tatry (2043m) transfer.
Day 3: Ascent of a gorge in the Slovenský raj (in some places the track is secured by chains and ladders).
Day 4: Rest day – history of Slovakia and UNESCO Heritage Sites.
Day 5: Hiking from the Belianske Tatry to the Vysoké Tatry (Kopské Sedlo – saddle 1749m).
Day 6: Vysoké Tatry – glacial lakes.
Day 7: Relaxation – museum of folk architecture, historic Liptov Region, transfer.
Day 8: Hiking in the Západné Tatry (Smutné sedlo – saddle 1963m).
Day 9: Hiking on the ridge of the Malá Fatra, ascent of Rozsutec (1610m).
Day 10: Depart for Vienna, departure.
