Enjoy a first class service not often made available to the adventurous traveler. Camps are made up of large canvas tent(2 to a tent), tall enough to stand in and wide enough to fit a double bed. There is fresh linen on the bed and a towel for the small shower situated close to but concealed from the camp. Your chef will prepare supper while you enjoy your settings.
We take a maximum of 8 people at a time on our schedule departure trips, however, all transfers are done with your own guide so there may only be the two of you in a vehicle subject to your party size. This means you have the flexibility to explore the country at your pass, but with the chance to interact with your fellow travelers and not have the pay the additional cost of having the camps set up specifically for your party.
The schedule itinerary takes in some of the most stunning scenery in Oman from the middle of the dunes at the Wahiba Sands, to the stunning coastlines of Khaluf Bay and Barr Al Hickman; through the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary and up through the Empty Quarter - a little taste of the real Oman.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: After breakfast you will be picked up by you tour leader and guides and begin your adventure out into some of the most picturesque and unspoilt areas of Oman. You begin at the old town of Ibra where the old market is still evident and provides a nice contrast between the old and new changes that Oman is seeing across the country. Just a little further on you head into the Bidiyah Region and for Wadi Bani Khalid where you will stop for a picnic lunch and some time to relax, soak up the sun or enjoy swimming in the pools. After lunch you head for the desert and the start of your offroad experience. You head right into the heart of the Wahiba Sands and your first nights stop is at one of our well appointed luxury fly camps. Luxury Fly Camp
Day 2: Enjoy sunrise over the dunes before returning to the camp for breakfast. You will break camp after breakfast and head further south across the desert where the sand breaks and the Wahiba meets the Arabian Sea. The contrasts are breathtaking and you continue along the coast. Lunch today will be served on one of the spectacular beaches and we will get to tonight's camp location at Barr Al Hickman in good time to relax and enjoy the stunning setting. Luxury Fly Camp
Day 3: Today we give you an opportunity to relax in the camp and enjoy the beaches of Barr Al Hickman or for those looking to see more of the country you can go off to explore Masirah Island or bird watching amongst the marshland in the Bay of Mahawt with our experienced guides. The group can choose different options and picnic lunches will be provided. The party will then all travel a little further down the coast to Khaluf Bay where they will stay in the Khaluf Bay Resort (Luxury Fly Camp will be provided until building is complete – expected to be December).

Day 4: Day free to relax around Khaluf Bay. After lunch, served at the accommodation, you will be escorted into the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary. Depending on arrival time there will be an opportunity to have a sunset tour with one of the rangers. Overnight in one of our Luxury Fly Camps. Luxury Fly Camp
Day 5: The day begins at sunrise with a safari around the sanctuary with one of the sanctuary rangers. You will get to see and learn about the Arabian Oryx, one of the most attractive desert animals, and also appreciate how they live in their harsh environment. You return to the camp for a hearty brunch prepared by your Chef before breaking camp and driving into the Empty Quarter , about a three and a half hour drive. Day 6: For those who would like an early start the sunrises in the Empty Quarter are a sight to behold and well worth getting up for. Breakfast will be served in the camp and you will also have the opportunity to go off on a short walking tour of the area. You will then break camp and head for Nizwa and the Falaj Daris Hotel. After freshening up you will be taken by your guides to enjoy the sights and sounds of Nizwa including the forts of Nizwa, Jabrin and Bahla. Time permitting you can also enjoy a trip up the spectacular Jebal Shams, the tallest mountain in Oman at 3000 metes. Return to the Falaj Daris Hotel for dinner. Falaj Daris Hotel
Day 7: After breakfast you begin your journey back to Muscat , but the excitement is far from over. You visit the towns of Tanuf and Misfah Al Abriyben before beginning your ascent of Jebal Akhdar. Along the way you will visit the villages of Hatt and Bilad Seet before heading through to Wadi Satan and enjoying a picnic lunch. You continue through to the picturesque Wadi Bani Awf, Nakhal Forts and the fresh water springs in that area. You will stop at Barka, a beautiful fishing town just 45 minutes from Muscat before you complete the final leg of your journey.
