Walk from Binsar Wildlife Sanctury to Dhaulchina (7 Km.) then after an overnight at the picturesque Eco Camp, the next stretch between Dhaulchina to Jageshwar (10 Km), mostly down hill trek, something which anyone who is reasonably healthy can easily do.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Delhi International airport, transfer to hotel Arpit Place, day room to rest relax. Catch the Ranikhet exp. departing old Delhi station at 10:40 P.M.
Day 2: Arrival Kathgodam (nearest rail head to this part of the Himalayas) transfer to the historical ridge of Kasaar Devi also known as the ‘Cranks Ridge’, walk the ridge amongst the seasoned travelers (1890mts), dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Free day to relax and explore the ’Cranks Ridge’ and the neighboring ancient Kumaoni Capital now a bustling hill town – Almora.
Day 4: After Breakfast transfer to Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary to start this historical walk/trek through picture postcard villages and dense Pine and Rodhendrone forests to Dhaulchina Eco Camp (7 km), overnight at the Camp.
Day 5: After Breakfast start Walk/ Trek to Vridh Jageshwar (7 km) a mountain ridge at an altitude of about 2200mts. with magnificent views of many 7800 mt and above Himalayan Peaks like Nanda Devi, Panchachuli and Trishul etc.
Packed lunch and some rest,trek down hill to Jageshwar (3 km), for a home stay at the Rajmahal, a 500 year old Himalayan house which even has mention in the ancient Hindu scriptures. Enjoy typical basic yet wholesome Kumouni cuisine rich in protein and fresh in nature, ideal food for the region and a night in a basic yet cozy house under clear blue sky studded with a million stars.
Day 6: Stay at Jageshwar, day to explore the magnificent Cedar forests with many pools and stream and mystical caves and Aashrams, or the 10th century rock cut temples dedicated to the Lord Shiva in the valley., one of the Twelve ‘Jyotirlingas’ and the most powerful and ancient ‘Mahamritunjaya’ temple on the planet Earth!
Day 7: After breakfast transfer to Ranikhet to the Balmoral - a colonial bungalow amidst pinewoods, relax, dinner and overnight at Ranikhet.
Day 8: Transfer to Kukuchina for a trek (4 km) up to the mystical mountain Panadav Kholi (refer to the notes), overnight at the Aashram (subject to permission).
Day 9: Trek down to Kukuchina and transfer to Ranikhet and subsequently to Kathgodam to catch train for Delhi.
Day 10: Arrival Delhi 04;10 am., transfer to hotel Arpit Place day room to rest relax. Tour ends, with memories to cherish a life time!
