This northern historic route trip is a trip to the "historic pilgrimage". Among the 7 world heritage sites in Ethiopia which registered by UNESCO, 3 of them are worth to be visited in this route. The Lalibella Rock churches, the 17th century Gonderian castles, single standing sight of Axum are acknowledged by UNESCO as a world heritage. Ethiopia is also stand at the first step in Africa for its 7 World heritage sites.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Addis Ababa - Arrival at Bole International Airport (Addis Ababa) where you will be met by our representative and transferred to Ghion hotel.
Day 2: Addis Ababa - Bahar Dar - In the morning fly to Bahir Dar. In the afternoon drive 30 km to the majestic Tis-Isat Falls. Return to Bahar Dar for dinner and overnight in Tana hotel.
Day 3: Bahar Dar - After breakfast you will have boat excursion on Lake Tana, to visit the 16th and 17th century monasteries of Ura Kidane Meheret and Kibran Gabriel (visited only by men). In the afternoon make a tour of the town. Overnight in Tana Hotel.
Day 4: Bahar Dar - Gonder - Transfer to the airport and fly to Gondar. Visit the 17th century castles, the Bath of Fasiledes, the icon-rich monastery of Debre Birhan Silassie. Overnight in Goha Hotel.
Day 5: Gonder - Lalibela - Transfer to the airport and fly from Gondar to Lalibella. Visit the 11 rock hewn churches built during the reign of king Lalibella in the 12th century. Overnight Lalibella in Roha hotel.
Day 6: Lalibela - Axum - Transfer to the airport and fly to Axum to enjoy sight seeing tour of Axum including the stale tombs, and the Church of St. Mary of Zion. Dinner and overnight in Yeha hotel.
Day 7: Axum - Addis Ababa - Transfer to the airport for your flight to Addis. Overnight in Ghion Hotel.
Day 8: Departure - Transfer to Bole International Airport for departure.
