We have designed these eco tour taking into account the reason you go on holiday, in order to enjoy nature, view beautiful landscapes, and experience new cultures. All of these things can be experienced while visiting the Mindo Cloud Forest. Another thing we have taken into account is the possibility for a family vacation, with some adventure, but with no excesses. Infact everybody can partecipate the tour, from children up to Grandparents. For those who have less time we have designed 3/4/5 days long versions. Contact us for details. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: From Quito to Pachijal along the Ecoroute el Paseo del Quinde. We leave Quito in the morning, followed by a Naturalist Guide, and after some kilometers we leave the new Road to Mindo and enter a road ascending the slopes of Pichincha Volcan, until reaching the Ecoroute el Paseo del Quinde, the old road that once connected the Coast of Ecuador with Quito, crossing the village of Nono (that’s the reason why here in Mindo we call it ‘the old road to Nono’). And we start descending (we are more than 3000 meters above sea level) along this road looking at the changing of Nature and landscapes, starting from Paramo, down to the Cloudforest (about 1600 meters above sea level), passing through other different ecosystems. The whole with the support of our Guide. In the afternoon we will reach Pachijal Reserve, our accommodation for next days and get in touch with the Cloudforest and its night that arrives suddenly. Day 2: A day in the Cloudforest. In the morning we walk along the trails in the Forest, observing, listening, taking photos, relaxing, sitting, eating and drinking. In the afternoon just appreciating the place. If You like You can a tour with one of our horses. Day 3: A cultural day. In the morning we visit the Ceremonial Site of Tulipe, less than 10kms from our Lodge. The site is managed by the Community and a guide will help us to know something about Los Yumbos, the people who lived here before the arrival of Spaniards and then disappeared. In the village of las Tola shops with handcrafts made with natural material, like seeds. In the afternoon visit at the Village of Mindo and its Mariposario (Garden of Butterflies). And then Italian Restaurant and …music if You like. Day 4: Birdwatching day. In the morning and in the afternoon, when the birds like to go out hunting and eating, our licensed birding guide will follow us, and our binoculars, to discover the extraordinary world of the birds of Mindo, reason why this place is known all over the world. Day 5: At Pachijal river. A good walk to the river where our name comes from and we will spend some hours there. Possible to bath and, why not?, sunbathe (if it decides to cooperate). When ready, back to Lodge and to our last night in Pachijal. Day 6: Return to Quito. After breakfast and without hurry we will leave to Quito to our next destination. Along the new road, this time.
