Located between Ninglang of Yunnan and Yanyuan of Sichuan, 280km north Lijiang, the Lugu Lake is known for its spectacular natural scenery and the unique, mysterious culture of the Mosuo people. The place has become a legend because of the matriarchal system that it still upholds even today.
Yading is located in southwest corner of Sichuan province, it is well-known for the 3 holy peaks named by the 5th Dalai Lama, Shiannairi Peak (6032 m high), Xianuoduoji Peak (5898 m high), Yangmaiyong Peak (5898 m high). Every year, there are many people trek around the 3 holy peaks for increasing their merits and virtues. This trekking journey is considered one of the best trekking routes in China.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Lijiang Old Town
Day 2: Lijiang Old Town
Day 3: Lijiang to Lugu Lake
Day 4: Trek from Lugu Lake/ Yak Farm to the Grassland (Elevation: 2, 900m or 9, 512ft)
Day 5: Grassland to Tongtian River (Trekking Distance: 22km. Elevation: 2,700m or 8, 856ft)
Day 6: Tongtian River to Kawa Village (Trekking Distance: 16km. Elevation 3,000m or 9, 840ft)
Day 7: Kawa Village to Lusi Grassland (Trekking Distance: 15km. Elevation: 3,200m or 10, 496ft)
Day 8: Lusi grassland to Kasi Village (Trekking Distance: 17km. Elevation: 2,600m or 8, 528ft)
Day 9: Kasi Village to Kasi Yak Farm (Trekking Distance: 16km. Elevation: 4,000m or 13, 120ft)
Day 10: Kasi Yak Farm/Chonggu Monastery (Trekking Distance:16km. Elevation: 3,800m or 12, 464ft)
Day 11: Chonggu Monastery to Daocheng (Elevation: 3,700m or 12, 136ft)
Day 12: Daocheng to Litang (Elevation: 4, 014m or 13, 165ft)
Day 13: Litang to Kangding (Elevation: 2,600m or 8, 528ft)
Day 14: Kangding to Chengdu.
