Huangshan, or Yellow Mountain, is one of China's most famous scenic spots. Eulogized by poets and painters, the beauty of Huanghsan's soaring peaks and elegant pines has attracted travelers for centuries. Tucked away in the foothills of the mountain are villages with over 800 years' history, each possessing some of the most beautiful, living examples of Ming or Qing architecture in the world. This short trip allows you to take a scenic hike on a legendary mountain, followed by an excursion to the surrounding countryside - an area known as Huizhou - famous for its classical Chinese landscape and where the Oscar-winning movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was filmed.

This delightful five-day trip offers the best of eastern China's natural wonders and cultural heritage. We will explore old villages retaining much of Ming and Qing architectural wonders followed by a short hike in Huangshan, the mystical peaks immortalized by Chinese painters. We will then make an excursion to Wuyuan in northern Jiangxi province where we will explore this relatively untouristed area.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Fly to Huangshan in the evening. On arrival, we drive to hotel directly to rest. (Flights from Shanghai/Beijing to Huangshan are mostly evening flights).

Day 2: Day Trip to Hong Cun in Yi County, which offers a dazzling landscape of rice fields and classical Ming and Qing architecture. It's one of the most photogenic villages in China.

Day 3: We drive to Wuyuan in Jiangxi Province. The landscape in Wuyuan is stunning - a favorite of photographers - and offers a 100% experience of what life is like in China's countryside. Our visits includes one of the most charming village, Likeng of Qiukou county.

Day 4: We continue our exploration and arrive Xiaoqi for two villages - Upper Xiaoqi and Lower Xiaoqi, famous for Ming/Qing old houses. We will return to Huangshan in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Hike up to the summit of Huang Shan and enjoy spectacular vistas.

Day 6: Decent Huangshan in the afternoon and fly back home in the evening. (Flights from Huangshan to Beijing/Shanghai are mostly evening flight.
