5 day Intensive Yoga / Detox Retreat holidays
Escape from the cold winter months of most of Europe and come down to South Portugal- one of the only places in Europe that offers also in winter a beautiful mild climate and plenty of sunshine. Combine this with one of our Yoga holidays in a beautiful upmarket guesthouse down in the Algarve and you have your perfect retreat holiday. Go on and treat your self, while others are complaining about the long, cold and dark winters in the rest of Europe.
The retreats are held in Monte Velho, a beautiful guesthouse that sits in one of the most stunning areas of Portugal (Carrapateria). Monte Velho is situated on a hill overlooking the very south west of Europe, a beautiful landscape and an ocean that offers one of the most spectacular surf breaks.
Life in Monte Velho is kept down to earth, but it is an upmarket place that could as well be an art gallery instead. The bungalows are very cozy and warm with most comfortable beds. Its your decision if you want to stay in a single room or share with 2 or 3 other retreat holidayers.
Thanks to the excellent location of Monte Velho you have a great choice of spare time activities. It is of course always recommended to relax as much as possible, but we have at our disposal:
the Algarves west coast (one of the best spots for surfing in Europe), beautiful guided hiking and bike tracks, bird watching, holistic horse riding, donkey riding (Motne Velho has its own donkeys) or you can spoil yourself with a few massages or other holistic treatments.
We promise to offer high class service (in accommodation, yoga, food and all other activities). Arrival for all holidays will be Sunday evening and departure Saturday morning. The yoga intense / detox holiday can be either an introduction to yoga for you, or if already experienced you can use these five days to deepen your own practice. We will adjust the level of instruction to suit each individual. The yoga groups are kept small.
On a daily basis you will have two meditation sessions and two yoga classes including asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and relaxation techniques. You will be served breakfast, a light lunch and dinner, all based on simple, but pure, healthy, vegetarian yoga food.
To help the detoxing process of your body, we use special detox food and natural supplements to help eliminating life time accumulated toxins. Yoga has a very detoxng effect on the organs anyway, but on this program we will concentrate on special detox poses
There are so many new diseases because there are so many new toxins (heavy metals, pesticides, preservatives electro smog, and other toxins we are abusing our body with). Detoxing is an essential tool to find health and happiness.

You will be leaving this weak with an immense amount of life energy, received through the practice of yoga, breathing the ocean air and eating energy-giving foods. You will leave the holiday with a deeper understanding of yoga, a healthy body, a relaxed but clear mind and an open heart.
