A one week long C.Y.A. (Canadian Yachting Association) certified program. Recommended for all children 12 years and older, and/or weighing at least 80 lbs. Bring bathing suit, towel and an old pair of sneakers.
Level I: Novice. The Basic Windsurfing Program, including theory, steering, tacking, windforce, weather prediction, simulator training, knots and hitches, launching, storage, self-rescue techniques, safety rules and right of way rules. Morning Sessions: - Monday thru Friday - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Afternoon Sessions: - Monday thru Friday - 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Level II: Intermediate. The objective of Windsure's Level II Youth Camp is to teach students higher level windsurfing skills. Such skills include boom tacks, power jybes, beach starts, as well as an emphasis on upwind sailing. Students will also learn how to use a harness. Formal evaluations are conducted at the end of each course giving students a sense of achievement and skill level. Afternoon Sessions: - Monday thru Friday - 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Youth week on the water: - Windsurfing in the morning. Skimboarding, kayaking or sailing in the afternoon. - Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Full day windsurfing and skimboarding or Kayaking combo: This is a fun full day program run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in conjunction with Macsailing and Ecomarine Ocean Kayak Centre. - Participants can choose between windsurfing, skimboarding, sailing or kayaking in the morning and afternoon.
