Group Program for Windsurfing and Skimboarding
We would like to introduce you to our windsurfing school exciting outdoor recreation and education program. We offer these programs at low-cost student group rates and we strive to develop life-long recreational skills. Windsure has been providing fun and safe water programs to the public for over 28 years. Windsure is associated with the Jericho Sailing Centre, which provides large, modern changing facilities with hot showers in order to make your lesson here as comfortable as possible. Also for your convenience, there is a restaurant serving hot and cold meals, a lounge and an elevated sun terrace with a beautiful view of English Bay. Parking is plentiful with 600 stalls. Students acquire an understanding of ocean sailing conditions and achieve good balance and coordination by learning these unique and fun sports. The program also provides a superb foundation for other sailing activities and basic water safety. We hope that you and your students will enjoy this opportunity to learn challenging new skills in a fun outdoor setting. We look forward to hosting you and your group this season. Windsurfing Course Content: This is an introduction to the sport of Windsurfing. Our certified instructors will take you through dry-land simulation, sailing theory and on-the-water instruction, all during a two (2) hour lesson. Gear: We will supply you with a complete sailboard, wetsuit and life jacket. You provide your own bathing suit, towel and foot wear. When: Fall classes start at the beginning of the school year. Spring classes begin April 1. Morning Sessions: - 9:00 am to 11:00 am - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Afternoon Sessions: - 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Skimboarding Course Content: This is an introduction to the sport of skimboarding. Our Instructors will teach you the proper technique of "Throwing" the board and skimming across the sand, and can even be introduced to basic manoeuvres such as "180's" and "Shuvit". The possibilities are endless and are only limited to a riders imagination and creativity. Gear: We will supply you with skimboard. You provide your own bathing suit, towel and foot wear. When: Fall classes start at the beginning of the school year. Spring classes begin April 1. The scheduling for skimboarding classes are subject to tide change.
