New Zealand Education Center is a private English language school, registered by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority with accredited English courses. Our English school is based in Taupo, New Zealand. The one place that has it all, Taupo township is situated on the northern shores of New Zealand's largest lake - famous for its spectacular scenery, kayaking and rafting rivers, geothermal areas and trout fishing. It is close to NZ’s largest ski and snowboarding resorts and Tongariro National Park. It is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise.
Faculty Information:
Part-Time English (4 levels): 15 hours English per week (09:00-12:15 each day). Suitable for students who wish to pursue their favourite sports and become fluent in English over a longer period of time. Students select their own afternoon adventure activities on a pay as they attend basis. 2-50 weeks duration.
Full Time English: 25 hours per week. The fastest way to improve your English. Students enrolled on this school course can change to an exam class at no extra cost. 2-50 weeks duration.
Pre-Secondary School Course: Prepares teenagers for New Zealand secondary school. Includes 15 hours English class in the mornings. Afternoons include school preparation English (e.g. mathematics, science) and alternating coaching activities, such as piano, swimming, golf, sports teams etc., or further afternoon English classes. Assistance with secondary school placement (students must intend to enrol at a secondary school). 12-50 weeks duration.
IELTS Exam Course: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is widely accepted as a prerequisite for university and polytechnic entrance examinations in New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and Canada. It is also required for permanent residency in New Zealand.
English + Adventure Activities: 15 hours English per week + 5 adventure activities per week - all equipment hire, transport, instruction & ski passes - 1 to 4 weeks duration. We encourage students to enrol in a combination of programmes. For example: Two weeks Full Time English and two weeks Full Time English and Adventure Activities. The student can then take the ten activities at any time over the four weeks. See Adventure Activities
Snowboarding & Skiing Race Programme: Suitable for experienced skiers/boarders who have their own equipment. Duration: Mid July to October. Snow school every weekend from July to September NZ school holidays.
Snow lover's special: For every 15 week enrolment purchased before 20 April 2007: FREE season pass at New Zealand's largest ski resort - Whakapapa Ski Resort
English & Golf: 15 Hours general English per week. 2 x 30 minute PGA coaching lessons, unlimited games at Taupo Golf Club. Driving range at Wairakei International Golf Course is also available. 2-50 weeks duration.
English & Golf Unlimited: English course of your choice plus one year's International Student golf membership at Taupo Golf Club - Taupo Golf Club
Parent & Children English course: Parent & Children English course - General English language tuition for parents while their children attend Taupo elementary school or daycare centre. The mother or father is responsible for the care of the child after school hours and in the school holidays. See Waipahihi School

Facility Information:
New Zealand Education Center will organise for students to stay at one of the following venues:
- Homestay, where you will be looked after by a Taupo family, have your own bedroom, 3 meals every day. Homestay is the most popular choice. You can continue to practise your English, while making Kiwi friends and getting to know the New Zealand way of life. We will try to match your hobbies or age group with the homestay family. Please include these details on your enrolment form. For English practice reasons, homestay is restricted to one student per family.
- Furnished House/Room/Apartment - suitable for long term study and independent students aged 18 years and over
- Motel, Hotels and Hostel accommodation is available upon request
- Rental cottages are available for long term couples
