Classes include 4 hours per day in all aspects of English language acquisition (Grammar, Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening) with an emphasis on language for communication. These classes are Academic preparation for college and university. There are cross-cultural studies as well as local and area excursions. This program is offered year round and at all levels from beginner through advanced.
Our English Language Centre has been offering English as a Second Language (ESL) training for over 35 years. Students 18 years of age and over can study ESL for full or partial semesters. Classes are small and the Centre provides a family environment to students from all corners of the globe. The caring ESL staff members are always available to talk to and assist ESL students offering a strong support network. The Student Services Office at the College offers full advising and counselling support by qualified and experienced staff to all students.
Faculty Information:
All of our instructors are highly qualified and experienced, and provide personalized language training to all students. The course involves 4 hours per day of intensive classes with emphasis on English for communication:
- Grammar
- Speaking/Listening
- Reading
- Writing
Other Activities:
Occasional field trips and activities are part of the our center program including tours of Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump and Writing-On-Stone, as well as, picnics, bowling, soccer, and other socio-cultural activities. Full-time students can get a membership at the college gym and are then eligible for activities including kayaking, kick boxing, Yoga, Tai-chi and soft ball. The Students’ Association also offers entertainment through cabarets at the D.A. Electric College Barn and games and contests throughout the year.

We have a sit down restaurant that is open to the public as well as a full cafeteria and a satellite cafeteria where you can buy snacks and some meals. Food is prepared by college students studying in Culinary arts and Food Services. There are many different types of foods and a large selection to choose from.
Notes:
The minimum cost represents the 11-week Spring semester and includes all additional college fees. The Maximum cost represents the 16-week Fall or Winter semesters and also includes all additional college fees. Students can start studying at any time during a semester for a minimum of 4 weeks at a cost of $225 per week.
It is mandatory that you have health coverage during your entire stay in Canada. Please ensure that you are adequately covered.
Refund Policy: Only students who are denied a visa will be refunded their full Tuition Deposit (Application Fee is non-refundable). We will require a copy of your official visa refusal letter.
All applicants must mail their application form along with the application fee and tuition deposit payment to the college. Students applying to programs other than English as a Second Language will also need to include their TOEFL score and original educational documents with their application.
