We offer the possibility of taking Spanish classes in Chile with a simple and entertaining methodology in intensive group courses (three students maximum) or private lessons. As we know that courses are not sufficient for a complete familiarization, the school can make housing arrangements for you with Chilean youths or families.
All too often, full immersion classes emphasize the academic aspects of Spanish to the exclusion of entry in the living and real culture to which it belongs. We believe academic rigor need not be limited to memorization, repetition, and textbooks. Our classes, consequently, take place not only in our classrooms, but also in the streets, markets and museums. We also utilize games, videos, local music, etc., to make the learning experience more entertaining and engaging.
Our teachers have received their credentials at the most prestigious universities in Chile and have ample experience teaching Spanish as a second language. Our maximum class size is 3 students. We believe that classes larger than this cannot cater to the individual needs of each student. Group or private classes start every Monday and are scheduled from 9am to 1pm or 2pm to 6pm.
There are four learning levels:
Beginner and Intermediate Levels last 3 weeks each or 60 hours (this may change according to the student's progress). The Advanced Level will depend exclusively on how quickly the student learns. The Fluent Level is designed for people who want perfect their Spanish skills. Each group class has a maximum of 3 students, which ensures more personalized attention than in other schools, which have typical class sizes of 5 to 15 students.
Classes are planned for native speakers of any language who want to learn or improve their Spanish (the language that has had the biggest expansion in recent decades). Moreover, Spanish has an interesting linguistic unity that allows the travelers to communicate all over Latin America.
Spanish, being so similar from one country to another, can be studied anywhere in Latin America. However, vocabulary varies regionally, which is why our teachers take special care to show their students expressions and words used in different countries in which Spanish is spoken.
Following this idea, and in accordance with our methodology, classes also include field trips, such as visiting fruit and vegetable markets (typical in Latin America), ordering at a restaurant (to know the culinary habits of the country), visiting museums (like the Pablo Nerudo Museum, a Chilean poet who won the Nobel Prize in 1971), among other activities. Furthermore, classes include Chilean, Spanish, and Latin American movies, listening to songs, reading newspapers, games, and more.
Finally, it is important to stress that class content is flexible, and can be oriented toward the special needs and interests of the students, such as business, traveling, or special studies.
