CP offers a wide range of german courses for academic, personal or professional purposes. Founded in 1958, CP participants benefit from more than 45 years of experience in German language instruction. Language instruction at CP is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching (CEF). It emphasizes the german culture and lifestyle.
A wide range of activities and excursions to enrich the learning experience can be organized by CP. At Collegium Palatinum the quality of our German courses and a high standard of teaching are guaranteed. Linguistic instruction and cultural immersion are an important part of all German courses. The school is located in the historic district city center, only minutes away from the main shopping streets, cinemas, theaters, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Course participants are conveniently housed near public transportation.

The language of instruction is German — right from the very first lesson. You will learn German with authentic texts and in communicative situations. Our teaching staff will adapt instruction to your specific learning needs and objectives. Their skills and dedication ensure the high quality of the Language Courses at Collegium Palatinum.
Other Activities:
Participants are encouraged to actively take part in the cultural and recreational activities organized by the Collegium Palatinum. Guided tours through the city of Heidelberg, as well as sightseeing trips to the Heidelberg Castle and the local museums are provided by Collegium Palatinum. Other events include concert or theatre venues, daytrips to such beautiful German cities as Bruchsal, Schwetzingen, Karlsruhe, Speyer in the Palatinate region, or Baden-Baden and Stuttgart. An orientation tour for all participants encourages students to get to know one another. Videotape viewings help improving listening comprehension.
For those who like sports, Heidelberg offers a wide variety:
- tennis and squash courts
- swimming pools
- bodybuilding facilities
- Even horseback riding and golf are available just outside of Heidelberg.
Facility Information:
All residential facilities offered by CP Heidelberg are easily accessible by public transportation (up to 30 minutes).
- Option 1: Student residence (self-catering). This option includes double or single rooms. Showers, bath-rooms and kitchens are located in the residence.
- Option 2: Private accommodation. Private accommodation with host families can be arranged for those participants who are looking for exposure to everyday life in their host country. Accommodation is available in single rooms with a meal plan. A host family can be a married couple with children, a single parent or also a single, elderly person.
- Option 3: Hotel or Hostel (Pension). Heidelberg offers a wide range of hotels of all categories. A list can be sent to you on request.
Notes:
- The cost of 2 weeks for the Standard Course 20 (20 hours per week) is € 340 per person.
- 2 weeks of the Compact Course 35 (35 hours per week) is € 580 per person.
- The longer a participant stays, the cheaper is the language course per week.
