Our Cookery School was the first to be founded in Siena and quickly gained recognition as one of Italy’s top 100 cookery schools. The school is situated in a building from the thirteenth century right in the historic center of Siena just a stones throw from Piazza del Campo, in the shadow of famous landmarks such as the imposing San Domenico, Saint Catherine's convent, and just across the way from Fontebranda, Siena's oldest fountain.
Lella has been teaching for many years, and is a member, among others, of the AICI (Association of Italian Cookery Teachers) and of the International Association of Cooking Professionals of Washington DC. She is a well known as a passionate researcher into traditional Tuscan and medieval cuisine and has worked with the major Italian culinary publications, as well as publishing her own cook book in Japan, entitled “The Pleasures of Italian Cooking”. She is currently working on a cook book in English.
The school enjoys the collaboration of guest experts such as dietitians, herbalists and many others! Each lesson lasts roughly four hours and includes hands-on work, a full five course meal, an excellent farmhouse Chianti and full lesson notes and recipes in English, as well as the services a simultaneous translator. We can cater to English, Japanese and German guest! Our clients can have any number of lessons that they like, from just one to a whole series, and we can provide lessons for individuals and groups alike (even large groups).
Lella regularly works with numerous country villas and farm holiday agencies (agriturismi) and is known in contrada circles for her popular women’s group cooking lessons, as well as free lessons during the festive season for children, encouraging them to take an interest from an early stage in correct nutrition and the pleasures of cooking. Lella is an AICI teacher and is a member of the IACP. Lella's school was the first to open in Siena and has been chosen to represent provincial and regional cooking on numerous occasions, both in publications and on the television.
The school has been ranked among Italy's top 100 cooking schools and has enjoyed success with tourists and Italians alike for the last ten years.

Facility Information:
The school is situated right in the historic center of Siena. It can be reached in five minutes on foot from any point within the town walls. Cars and coaches can park easily in the "Santa Caterina" carpark just a few yards away from the entrance to the school.
