We have different departments for adults, teenagers and juniors. We are also an examinations centre and teacher-training centre. SIS is an independent language school with a small management team who have professional experience in academic administration and welfare. We work as a team for you as an individual.
We look after our students from the beginning (when they first contact us) all the way through their stay - in lessons and in free time. We give all our students an ID card with their homestay address and 24-hour school telephone number. We usually have students from about 30 different countries every year and we try to make sure that we really are an international school. We hope you will enjoy learning English in a lively and friendly atmosphere. Many of our students keep in touch with the school and with the people they meet here and return in following years.
We have a team of qualified and experienced teachers - all native speakers of English. You will have lessons with different teachers working together to make your course as interesting and useful as possible. We run a lot of different courses at all levels from beginner to advanced. Faculty Information:
At Easter and in summer we offer a Teenage Vacation course for students aged 14 - 17. This course includes morning lessons, and sports and social activities in the afternoons and evenings.
The Teenage Vacation course is ideally suited to teenagers who require a general English course combined with an interesting and varied social and activities programme. Mixed nationality groups follow communicative courses with an emphasis on the spoken language. Join any Monday
- 20 lessons (15 hours) of tuition per week, mornings only, in classes of maximum 15 mixed nationality students.
- 6 levels - from Beginner to Advanced
- First day test to ensure correct class level
- Free escorted SIS coach transfer to and from London Heathrow Airport on Saturdays
- Afternoon and evening activities are supervised by experienced SIS leaders
- I.D. card with 24-hour emergency contact
- Certificate of attendance with language grades at end of course.

Easter and Summer: Young Adult courses for the more serious student aged 16 - 18 with morning, or morning and afternoon, lessons and a social programme.
Year-round:
- The Teenage Intensive course - 21 hours per week of General English
- The High Flier Pre-UK boarding school preparatory course - 21 hours of General English and also English for school subjects
Other Activities:
Comprehensive leisure programme including:
- One full day excursion and one half-day outing per week
- Weekly disco
- Visit to Sports Hall, and opportunity to join other sports activities
The following is a list of activities that take place on our leisure programme, either as part of our escorted excursions, or in the afternoons and evenings. There are no extra costs for Teenagers, High Fliers, Tweens or Juniors for these. Adults pay a small extra fee if they wish to join Saturday excursions and some weekday options. All entrance fees are included.

- Golf lessons with PGA professional, and green fees at many local golf courses
- Tennis lessons with LTA professional
- Sailing & windsurfing lessons with RYA instructors (must book in advance)
- Horse-riding, pony-trekking and riding lessons at BHS-approved school
Facility Information:
We can arrange homestay, self-catering apartments, hotels, guest houses and B&B.
Homestay:
Single bedroom: 120 GBP per week (130 GBP in June, July, August)
Shared bedroom: 110 GBP per week
Price includes breakfast and evening meal, plus light lunch at weekends.
