WP College is committed to meeting the educational needs of each and every one of its students. Our experienced staff has designed our program to meet the needs of each student, from the very beginner to the most advanced student. Our programs provide individualized attention and with our intensive learning process students gain the necessary skills for successful communication of the English language. In addition we provide students with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
The length of a students stay at WP College depends on the level of English proficiency the student desires. WP Collegee only requires a 24 week commitment and most students will be at a level of English that will help them gain entry to a University of their choice. Whether you are a tourist who wants to improve conversational skills, a business person with professional communication needs, or even a group of school age children, everyone does benefit from our personalized program.
Faculty Information:
General Academic English (GAE): 5 Levels, beginning to advanced:18 lessons per week. WPC’s General Academic English (GAE) helps students develop their basic academic English skills needed to develop and expand academic skills. Students learn how to communicate fluently and effectively in an academic setting. Each level of study includes core courses in grammar, reading, writing and speaking/listening. Students can choose one elective to add to their program plus they receive a conversational workshop class.
Intensive Academic English (IAE): 5 Levels, beginning to advanced: 26 lessons per week. WPC’s Intensive Academic English (IAE) program helps students expand their developing academic English skills. Students learn how to communicate fluently and effectively in an academic setting which changes students from a bystander into an active participant. Each level of student includes core courses in grammar, reading, writing, and speaking/listening. Students can choose three electives specially designed study areas such as pronunciation with accent reduction, idioms, word analysis, spelling, vocabulary building, note-taking skills, and oral presentation technique.
Super Intensive English (SIE): 5 Levels, beginning to advanced: 40 lessons per week. WPC’s Super Intensive English (SIE) programs helps students challenge their academic English skills which are needed to successfully enter American colleges and universities or to utilize their English for their professional careers. Each level of study includes core courses in grammar, reading, writing and speaking/listening. Students are provided with one hour per day of private tutoring and can choose four electives and will have a class in conversation.

Our dedicated staff will work hard to provide you with a variety of social, cultural and other activities to entertain and stimulate you, whatever your taste, whatever your budget may be. There are weekend tours to enjoy beautiful scenery, attend a Portland Trail Blazers NBA game, visits to historic places, fun learning activities with fellow students or theater evenings; you'll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy your free time as a student at WPC.
