Writers Workshop Ireland 2007 will accept a maximum of 16 writers for this year's workshop. We will stay in a bed and breakfast overlooking the Celtic Sea and take days trip to Lismore Castle and gardens, Mizen Head, the southwestern tip of Ireland, Kinsale -- home of Charles Fort and Desmond Castle, the stone circle of Drombeg and Cork City. Evenings we will enjoy Irish music and dancing. Two writing instructors provide workshops and one-on-one consultations, working with participants to develop their concepts into finished essays suitable for publication. An anthology of participants' work will be published before Christmas 2007.

Faculty Information:
Linda Watanabe McFerrin is a poet, travel writer, novelist and teacher. She is author of two collections of poetry; short story collection The Hand of Buddha; novel Namako: Sea Cucumber. Her website is http://lwmcferrin.com.
Joanna Biggar is a teacher, writer and traveler. She has been a professional writer and journalist for over twenty years. Her book Travel and Other Poems was published in 1996.

Other Activities:
In addition to daily workshops and one-on-one consultations with our two instrucutors, we will take day trips to Lismore Castle and gardens; Mizen Head, the southernmost tip of Ireland; Kinsale, home of Charles Fort and Desmond Castle; the stone circle of Drombeg; the city of Cork. We will also spend a half day whale and dolphin watching out of Kinsale Harbor. Evenings we will enjoy Irish music and dancing.

Facility Information:
Participants will be the only guests at the Bellevue Bed and Breakfast in Myrtleville, County Cork, overlooking the Celtic Sea. Full Irish breakfasts and five dinners are included at our B & B.

Notes:
Cost includes instruction and consultations, shared accommodations, full Irish breakfast and five dinners, transportation for day trips, entrance fees to sites, entertainment and beverages at workshop center.
