Our school caters for the beginner, intermediate and advanced level surfer. We work individually one-on-one in the water with all our clients throughout the lesson. Private and group classes and courses start daily with 2 sessions times to choose between. Whether you take a beginner group or intermediate lesson, a multi-day course or one of our private lesson options, our school will get you surfing with style and a smile.
Faculty Information:
Our school is owned and run by Byron Bay's original and best surf tour operator, Terry Hannon. Terry innovated the surf school industry on NSW's far north coast with the opening of Byron Bay's first surf school in 1993. The word of mouth publicity generated by his successful venture saw Byron Bay quickly evolve into what today is Australia's unofficial learn to surf capital.
In 1999, with the opening of his second successful school this iconic frontman continued his winning reputation. Terry set about delivering on a unique selling point that would outclass all his competition. That selling point came in the form of world exclusive surfing guarantee for which the school today is famed: ``Stand and ride a wave for 40 metres or your money back!''
Terry is also widely acclaimed as the "Steve Irwin of learn to surf" for his infectious enthusiasm, upbeat humor and Aussie larrikinism. He has been surfing for more than 30 years and has the distinction of being Byron Bay's most experienced entry level surf instructor - bar none. He has taught 10s of 1000s of locals, backpackers, holiday makers and corporate giants how to surf.
Other Activities:
Go North Surf Adventure 6 Day Byron Bay to Agnes Water (Town of 1770). This is an eco-adventure for the nature-loving novice surfer who wants to get seriously surfing. It includes hostel accommodation and additional activities that will get you close up and personal with some of our best-loved wildlife.
Go North Surf Adventure is limited to 12 people. It includes all transport, 3 destinations, 5 surf progressive sessions, 5 nights accommodation, 2 gourmet BBQ meals, all breakfasts, a canoe trip along the Noosa Everglades or wildlife electric scooter tour, a close up and personal experience with the dolphins of Tin Can Bay, return trip to Byron Bay.
Facility Information:
We provide a free transfer to and from your accommodation and all your surfing equipment including long and short wetsuits, rash vests and soft surfboards and fins. Our instructors are hand-selected for their personality, professionalism and experience. Several of our instructors have competed successfully in the national and world surfing arena. All our instructors hold Level 1 coaching cards and current senior first aid and life-saving certificates.
