Our school is dedicated to providing an intensive Spanish language program in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We have created a practical and effective teaching method that will help students successfully communicate in Spanish from their first moment in class. Our experienced and energetic teaching staff combine fun, exciting, and effective lessons with culturally rich activities that bring the language to life. Surrounded by lush, cloud-capped mountains we are located in the upscale suburban community of San Rafael de Alajuela.
Faculty Information:
Our Costa Rican instructors are competent, patient, and have been trained extensively in specific methodologies for teaching Spanish as a second language. Also all of them are advanced university students.
We have developed several programs, which apply effective and practical conversational teaching methods to help students communicate in Spanish as quickly and easily as possible. Our goal is to help beginner students communicate effectively in Spanish and provide advanced students the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the language.

Facility Information:
The small class size (average of 2 students per professor, maximum of 4) allows professors to provide individual attention and assessment for each student. Students can communicate with other members of the class and the teacher directly with opportunities for immediate feedback and instruction.
This method of instruction is reinforced during visits to different places in the area such as supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, banks, etc.; in this way students are provided the opportunity to experience Tico culture and experiment with the language in real-life situations.
We offer a homestay program with Costa Rican families. There is no better way to learn the language and culture than to live with a costarican family. They are carefully selected and each family is permitted only one student.
However, in the case of couples or families, the school can make the necessary arrangements. Accommodations are with families in upper and middle-class homes. They are sure to be comfortable, clean, and well maintained.
Your homestay includes:
- A private room
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Laundry
- Room cleaning
- Your own keys.
The student can arrive to the host family on Saturday or Sunday before beginning the Spanish classes and can leave the homestay on Saturday or Sunday after the program.
Notes:
Students are expected to pay for the program the first day of classes. We do not accept credit cards as a form of payment.
If a homestay student should arrive in Costa Rica after 11:00 p.m., we will provide transportation to a Bed and Breakfast for that night. The following day the student will be introduced to their homestay family.
