Our Spanish programs in Argentina run at four locations: start with your Spanish lessons in the vibrant cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires, and continue in Bariloche, Montevideo or in the Heart of the gaucho culture on the Argentine countryside in the Pampas. Additionally we offer Spanish courses Cusco, Peru. The Amauta Spanish School in Argentina was opened in 2008. It is the second Amauta school in South America, the first one opened in Cusco, Peru in 1996 and ever since is one of the most important ones in Cusco.
Our main desire is to make your stay in Buenos Aires as enjoyable as possible. From the moment that you arrive you will be looked after. We will have an orientation meeting with a walking tour around Belgrano, the area where the school is located at, providing information about money exchange, where to find a supermarket or clinic, basically everything you need to know for the daily life in Cusco. We also provide a 24 hour emergency number for our students in order to assist you with all your concerns.
The students visiting us are from all over the world which creates a great international atmosphere. About half of our students are between 20 and 30 years old; the other half vary between 18 and 65. Amauta is known for its interactive, communicative and personal teaching methods. Standard group or individual programs include four hours of instruction per day from Monday to Friday.
Spanish Programs
- Spanish Language Program: Our Spanish School offers you customized tutoring at the level and pace especially suited to your personal goals. Our Spanish School is known for its interactive, communicative and personal teaching methods. All standard programs include four hours of private or group instruction per day. Additional hours can be arranged for.
- Interactive, Communicative Teaching: Successfully implementing the interactive method depends entirely on the personal attention teachers are able to give students. Therefore, our groups are small and all courses are (super) intensive. The make-up of the group is determined according to the students’ abilities; the first day of the course begins with an oral and written placement test. Our Spanish teachers are experienced native speakers that are highly skilled professionals.
- Levels: We work with four levels, fixing the goals for each based on our experience and in accordance with the curriculum of the Instituto Cervantes and the Council of Europe. (Common European Framework of References).
* Beginners (A1+A2+B1): The student will be able to formulate and understand short sentences relating to basic necessities and forms of politeness.
* Intermediate (B2): The student will be able to express himself, perhaps sometimes with a little difficulty, but usually spontaneously and independently, in everyday situations.
* Advanced (C1): The student will have advanced communication ability, even in complicated situations.
* Superior (C2): Clearing up minor imperfections. Refining pronunciation and intonation. Communicating, without difficulty, with people who are native Spanish speakers.
Whether a complete beginner or an advanced speaker, a recent or returning student, we can offer customized tutoring at a level and pace especially suited to a student's personal goals.
STANDARD SPANISCH COURSES
* Group Course: All our group courses (at least 8 different sub-levels) start any Monday of the year except for complete beginners. Classes take place either in the morning or in the afternoon. All groups work with two different teachers who rotate, so the students get exposed to the different varieties of spoken Spanish. There is a maximum of six students per group. From complete beginners to very advanced.
* Individual Course: A program especially tailored for our students specific needs and interests. Students can give us their preferences for certain hours and teachers. Specially recommended for people that have specific needs (e.g. more/less grammar, special learning needs, younger than 16 years, Survival Spanish: a fast survey of Spanish directed towards speaking Spanish while traveling in Latin America, etc.).
* Best of Both (combination group and individual): Take advantage of having fun, dynamic classes, and learning more from and about student's friends in a group class (four hours a day), in combination with the personal attention you can only get from a private teacher, during (two hours) the afternoons.

They have been chosen because of their high quality teaching skills, their enthusiasm and their knowledge of Cusco and Peru. Coming from different countries in Latin-America they all took our school's teachers' training and participate in continuing education during their employment.
Other Activities:
Complementary we offer free cultural courses that are included in all programs such as Latin American movie presentations, lectures, tango classes, cooking classes, weekly museum visits, a visit to the world famous Cemetery in Recoleta, PickNicks etc. This is an excellent opportunity to learn a lot about the Peruvian history and South America while improving your Spanish. All these courses are directed towards learning in a dynamic environment
Additionally Amauta offers Cultural Workshops – Tango, Argentine Cooking - with a longer duration with local teachers, which can be booked (for an additional fee) in blocks of separate hours. We are equipped to address each individual’s needs, such as booking bus and plane tickets and helping students plan their onward journeys, e.g. further up north, o further south, to Patogonia. Buenos Aires and Amauta offer different leisure time activities such as city tours, trips to Tigre or los Estancias, to visit a football match or enjoy one of the famous tango shows. We will make sure that you can be rest assured that your stay in Buenos Aires will be a sparkling one.
Facility Information:
We offer four different kind of accommodation possibilities that you can choose from during your stay in Buenos Aires:
- Living with a Guest family gives you the perfect possibility to practice your Spanish while living with an Argentine family, taste the rich home cooked food and learn more about the Argentine culture.
- If you like to have more contact with the other students from different parts of the world the Student residence will be perfect for you. You will be living with six to twelve students and an Argentine guest mum within a distance of max. 20 – 25 minutes from the school.
- For those who are planning to stay longer in Buenos Aires and who enjoy living more independently, Amauta offers the interesting possibility to stay in an off campus flat. This comfortable environment is a perfect setting to make other friends and to be more than just a visitor in this happening city. All flats are located in residential neighborhoods at a maximum 30 minutes distance from the school and the city center. These apartments offer the students maximum security and the comfort of a fully equipped kitchen, along with furnished living room and bedrooms.
